Check out Higginbotham’s Writer’s café, Peters Lane, Royapettah, behind Sathyam Cinemas.

Day 1

When I find myself at Writer’s Cafe in, I believe I am closer to finding that elusive ‘perfect’ cafe. The books on display which is free to pick and read, cover popular fiction, cookbooks, fashion, coffee table books and magazines. A dream come true for any voracious reader who can plonk on a comfortable couch and satiate an appetite for both good coffee and books here.

Downstairs, there is a little Swiss bakery cafe run by people with a social conscience. This is immediately obvious from the welcoming staff, the friendly atmosphere and the good vibes that the place exudes. It is a not for profit restaurant and some of the staff are acid attack survivors, or come from socially disadvantaged backgrounds or are handicapped.

Writer's Cafe promises to satiate your appetite for both good food and a good read. And doesn’t leave a hole on your pocket too...!! Must try…
