For all you backpackers who have been planning a trip to Pondicherry any time soon, staying at Micasa Hostels should definitely be on your stay list!!!

I made an impromptu plan to Pondicherry in September this year. Initially thought of taking a direct flight, however, ended up flying to Chennai and then drove to Pondicherry across the scenic ECR Road. Can't thank my own self for choosing this option, as the bike drive turned out to be one of the most enthralling ones of my life. Hired a bike through "Worktown Rentals" @ Rs. 700 per day and the owner was kind enough to make it available at the airport itself.

It took us approximately 3 hours to reach Pondicherry and after a relaxing day at a famous beach resort, we finally headed to our next stopover "Micasa Hostels". Since college days, I always wanted to experience a hosteler's life, but never got a chance and the sight of Micasa hostels, bought back the urge to live like one.

Located right in the heart of Pondicherry, the Hostel is close to all major tourist attractions as well as popular eating joints. It is around 0.6 Kms from the railway station, 1.5 Kms from the bus stand and 4.5 Kms from the airport.

Micasa Hostel has been planned and constructed on the lines of POD Hostels that have recently caught the attention of backpackers all over the world. The cute wooden bunker beds are a sight for the eyes. The beds are available in both mixed dorms as well as females only and are secured with cameras all around. The hostel's washrooms give a feel of luxury with the best in class fitments, the large, open and well equipped kitchen gives the guests a perfect space for sharing a meal together.

With a super quirky reception that has various indoor games like carrom and chess, an amazing terrace where the party goes on till wee hours, (the add on is - BYOB for all booze lovers), the large recreational area that has a home theater system, Micasa Hostel gives its guests a lot of options to hang out and have a home outside home.

The owners, Anand and Chris come across as really warm and welcoming. They give personalised attention to the guests and extend help when it comes to knowing the intricacies of the place.

Totally worth the money they charge. Absolutely loved staying there!!!
