Wild Coast Tented Lodge is strategically placed with Indian Ocean on one side and Yala National Park, renowned for its dense leopard population, on the other.
The spectacular tented camp has jungles, beaches rugged outlook and the most luxurious interiors imaginable. Wild Coast Lodge’s unique design, sees the man-made structures blending seamlessly into the surrounding landscape thanks to the use of carefully selected natural materials. The use of arched fabric structures allows each of the 28 tents to take on the shape and colour of the rocks and boulders that lay scattered nearby, whilst a clever layout in the shape of a leopard’s paw print alludes to the area’s most famous resident. The central buildings, made of bamboo, seamlessly blend with the rock formations of Yala and the tents, called Cocoons and Urchins, truly represent resplendent luxury with every amenity offered, including air-conditioning.
There are three types of Cocoons available at Wild Coast:
Cocoon Suite
The luxurious Cocoon Suite has a four-poster king-sized bed and a spacious bathroom centred around a free-standing handmade copper bathtub. Its décor is a combination of colonial expedition style and contemporary design. There is a private viewing deck that overlooks watering holes where a diverse array of fauna flock early morning.
Cocoon Pool Suite
The Cocoon Pool Suite has all the amenities and features of the Cocoon Suite with the added luxury of a private plunge pool. It is the most sought-after room at Wild Coast.
Family Cocoon With Urchin
The Family Cocoon has all the luxuries and facilities of the Cocoon Suite. It also has an adjoining twin-bed urchin tent that offers a sense of privacy to children and young adults as well as their parents, while staying nearby.

The open-air bamboo-clad Ten Tuskers bar and Dining Pavilion – designed to mirror the boulders scattered across the golden beach beyond – wrap around the resort’s enormous free-form swimming pool. Guests can enjoy creative daily-changing menus of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in the restaurant, as well as sundowner cocktails and picnics al fresco on the sand dunes, watching dusk settle over the Indian Ocean.

The dry season from February to June is the best time to visit Wild Coast Tented Lodge. You can easily venture into Yala National Park and go on adventure safaris, spotting wildlife. Or you can chill on the beach with comfort and see the sun go down on the Indian Ocean. Please note that Yala National Park normally closes each year for the month of September for maintenance.

Sanctuary Spa
The Sanctuary Spa at Wild Coast Tented Lodge is a haven for the Spa enthusiast. The spa borders pristine ocean and dense jungles, and is blessed with fresh ocean breezes, creating an atmosphere of natural healing. The most famous ingredients used in their Spa treatments are Ceylon Tea and Ceylon Cinnamon, and both are used liberally in the oils, scrubs and poultices.
Safari to Yala National Park
You can also take a safari out in Yala National Park, world-renowned for having the highest concentration of leopards in a national park. Vehicles will whisk guests to the quietest corners of Yala National Park, whilst expert naturalist guides will be on hand to talk guests through the incredible diversity of flora and fauna, including elephants, sloth bears and leopards.
