Where is Mergui?

Mergui is situated on the eastern end of the Andaman sea, opposite Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The archipelago is off the southernmost tip of Myanmar. The nearest mainland city is Myeik.

How to reach Mergui?

Even though Mergui is in Myanmar, it is pretty far from the most well-connected airport in Myanmar it Yangon (1,000 kms). Instead, the nearest airport is Ranong in Thailand. Ranong is right across the southern border of Myanmar which gives it direct access to Mergui Archipelago. Land border crossing to Myanmar is pretty simple. All you need is an E-Visa for Myanmar which can be easily obtained online.

You can fly to Ranong directly from any major city in India. Another way to reach Mergui is to take a flight or a luxury bus from Bangkok.

The beauty of Mergui is meant for travellers who are constantly looking to get more out of their travels. It is a haven for nature lovers. You can also book a luxury yacht vacation for some romantic time with your partner.
