Be it doctors or dietitians, fitness trainers or even mothers, we've all heard them tell us that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day". I happen to be an ardent believer of the ideology. Not only is a healthy and wholesome breakfast important to keep you going through the day, it can even set the mood for the entire day—sure does for me! A breakfast can make or break the day for me, it's as simple as that!

The city of Chandigarh seems to have woken up to a similar realisation in recent times. Chandigarh's famous markets have seen a sudden upsurge in the number of cafes in the past few years which serve some authentic western-style breakfast. To add to that, there are the local paratha and chole bhature joints, making the city a paradise for people who like to start their day with a king-sized meal.

Here are my picks of the best breakfast spots in Chandigarh that make for some memorable early morning gastronomical adventures!

Foods also happens to be a great breakfast spot, serving some of the best parathas in town. The parathas here are soft and well-stuffed and in true Punjabi style, come with a generous chunk of butter on top. Pair them with a bowl of curd for an out-of-this-world experience. True 'breakfast of champions' I say!
