One of the best things to do if you are in the holy city of Banaras is watching Ganga Aarti at ghats. There are many ghats where Aarti is organised but two main ghats are:
1)Dashashwamedh ghat ( best one)
2)Assi ghat (near to Lanka-BHU, Rs 10 per person from Lanka)
HOW TO REACH :
You can take an auto or cab from BSB station or Lanka-BHU to Godowlia. Sharing charges are Rs30 per person. From Godowlia you have to walk for 10-15 minutes to reach Dashashwamedh Ghat.
TIMINGS :
Aarti starts at 6 PM in winters and 7 PM in summers. After the aarti, you can go for a boat ride that will take you across all the ghats of Banaras. Charges for the boat is Rs50 per person in sharing basis or you can book private boat (Rs300 for a small boat). You can also visit the famous old Vishwanath temple which is located near to Dashashwamedh Ghat.
