Get set Goa

It's the first time that I went to Goa by train and it was really a beautiful experience.

We stayed at a private accommodation near Anjuna beach and rented a couple of bikes the first day for a ride to baga beach. Anjuna beach is very isolated whereas baga has a good crowd. I had gone along with a few friends and I wanted to explore goa this time.

The next day we rented a car and off we went for the waterfalls. Dudhsagar falls are on the southern side of goa however we learnt that it is inaccessible due to the rains. Hence we chose to go to Amboli waterfalls which is 70kms from baga. These waterfalls are on the ghat and it falls on the border of maharashtra and goa. The drive all the way was good and the falls were amazing. The water was icy cold and clean. The blowing wind pulling the fog along was a sight to watch. There are a lot of street vendors selling hot samosas, vada pav, onion pakodas and so on with hot tea. Being gujjus, we couldn't resist ourselves from trying the street food and it was delicious, specially the onion pakodas. On the drive back we stopped at Panaji to try our luck at the Casino. After winning some, we left and went to tap our feets at Tito's which is a famous disco at Baga beach.

Next day, it was time to drive to south goa. We decided to check the unexplored butterfly beach which is accessible from Palolem beach. After a long wonderful drive, we reached palolem beach only to find that butterfly beach is closed during monsoon. Hence we went for a bath in palolem beach. We soon understood it wasn't a good idea, since something in the water seemed to bite us. If you are planning to go there and get into the sea, take precaution. Though I would like to point that it is one of the beautiful beaches of goa. The water is clean and sparkling mix of green and blue.

All in all, it was a wonderful trip. Whenever I go to Goa next, I would want to stay in South goa.
