Annapurna Region Trek

With the backdrop of the mountains looming high into the azure sky, Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the trekking journeys that encapsulate the absolute majesty and splendor of the mountains within itself. Ghorepani is a wonderful settlement in the midst of the ever verdant foliage and forest that cover the uneven terrain of the hills. It is a beautiful experience to hike through the ever blooming and growing forests of pine and see a vastness of the natural garden of foxgloves and snapdragons blossoming under the omnipotent sky. Poon Hill is a vantage point that provides the trekkers with amazing and beguiling sight of Mount Annapurna and its surrounding mountains. The Hike to Poon Hill will be worth every trouble that you go through with a hike up the elevations because of the absolutely marvelous sight of the Mount Annapurna massif. The mountains stand tall and peaceful in their places like they have stood for billions of years, with their beings covered in thick snow which looks like the uneven and haphazardly distributed confetti of tiny miniscule geodes that sparkle under the ethereal light of the sun. Ghorepani also provides the trekkers with the opportunity to mingle along and get aquatinted to the people who occupy the land. They have their own unique traditions and their own interesting customs, and we can experience their lifestyles and get to know about them better. There are gumbas and monasteries and temples along the way as well, and their religious ambiance is also hard to ignore. All the temples and the gumbas have their own lore and stories behind them and getting to know these stories is quite a good added advantage of the trek.

With the development of the infrastructures, and the ever growing business of Eco-tourism in Ghorepani and Poon Hill area, the place has a wide variety of hotels and wonderful accommodations that we can stay in, and has the execution of the services that come along with it as well. The sight of the Annapurna Himalayas is the most beautiful and serene sight that you will ever see. And besides the foliages and the vegetation and the animals and the landscape, Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek also gives you the opportunity to experience the cultures and traditions of the people as well- in adjacent to the environment. It is a wonderful journey, one that enlightens the trekkers with the information and knowledge of new and exciting world that they haven’t experienced before. Nepal is a cultural hotpot, a broiling cauldron of religious and traditional practices, and all of these diversities exist with one another with tolerance and peace. It is a country which embraces the new developments, but still has its grasps on the traditions and cultures which have stemmed out from thousands of years ago. The contrast between a bustling metropolitan of the capital and the serene small villages is very wide, yet still, all of these differences co-exist together with one another.

Trekking in Nepal all the way to Poon Hill, the trekkers will come across verdant rhododendron forests, blossoming in pretty colors and shades of pink, red and white. The sight of the forest providing a canopy of flowers overhead is very beautiful. The forest also has sentinel-like trees of fir and cedar, standing in rows and growing tall, and it seems like they are guarding the ethereal essence of nature with their silent potency of sturdiness and patience. They have their own ecosystem with the foliage, the vegetation and the fauna, and it is maintained by their conservation as well. While on the trek, the emerald woods changes gradually to amethyst brown, and the rocks which were moss covered in their immortal immobilization begins to have a more drastic brownish hue to them. The shades under the willow trees fade behind, the pine cones litter the forest floor and the hiking trail less and the higher up we go, the trail begins to show signs of treaded grass and the borderline of the trails are adorned with dandelion flowers of yellow and white. The feet of the trees are covered with perennials and white hydrangea, and small ponds have coy delphiniums looking at their reflections on the clear water. Poon Hill has a small abundance of Bunchberry Bushes and Fern growing on its soils, and observing these small tiny miracles of life while enjoying the trek with the ever magnificence of Mount Annapurna’s Panoramic vistas of the Himalayas is utterly heavenly! The Opal-like contexture of Annapurna Himal is like the swirl of white against the periwinkle blue of the sky. The Lavender Blush Rivers flowing down the valley, painted with honeydew marigolds on its banks, are like muses for poets to write wanderlust poems about. The trek is simply full to the very brim with natural beauty of indescribable grace and arresting amalgam of woods and tiny village houses. It is breathtaking and dreamy, terrific in all of its heavenly aspects, and is a perfect adventure to be remembered for all of our lives.
