About Munnar : Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in India’s Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. Eravikulam National Park, a habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr, is home to the Lakkam Waterfalls, hiking trails and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak.
About Thekkady : Thekkady is the location of the Periyar National Park.
We , I and my 25-30 colleagues , we planned this trip on a long weekend .
We left from Trivandrum on friday night, and reached the prebooked hotel in Munnar by 4am in Early morning .
Day 1 :
A beautiful spot for viewing the picturesque Munnar, Kundala Lake- a natural lake with recreational facilities like boating and having excellent view of Western Ghats as well as the forest surrounded with.
visit Eco point,Blossom park, TATA Tea Mueum and tea plantations. After noon you can visit Eravikulam National park; where the endangering Nilgiri Tahr is conserved and can have the breath taking view of Munnar Hills.
Drive back to hotel, enjoy a campfire night in Munnar.
Day 2 :
Thekkady, the Wildlife destination of Kerala, also known as the spice bag of the state. Enjoy a beautiful journey through the hills and valleys of Western Ghats to reach this jungle destination.
Go for an optional Kathakali show, Spice plantation visit, elephant ride, or an Ayurvedic massage treatment there.
Have an amazing boat ride in Periyar Lake which flows through the Periyar tiger reserve. WTCH the wild animals like elephant, Bison, Sambar, Deer etc are roaming the both shore. get engaged with lot of optional activities like elephant safari, Jeep Safari, Bamboo rafting, Spice plantaion
Drive back to Munnar , buy yourself chocolates and spices from the local market and then overnight journey to Trivandrum.
Day3 : Early morning reach Trivandrum . End trip with memories
p.s. Don't wait for sunrises on any of the Arabian sea beaches in kerala :D They have only sunsets :p
