From the chaotic Metro Manila, I took a bus to Tarlac City to catch up with the rest of the Tara Quing Tarlac (Tara na sa Tarlac) participants on their 3rd day in the province. A media familiarization tour showcasing what Tarlac tourism had to offer, spearheaded by the local government of Tarlac along with Microtel by Wyndhman- Luisita. I arrived around nine in the evening and thankfully I was fetched by the hotel service at the Robinsons Mall after I had a late dinner.

Yet again, I was looking forward to experiencing Microtel's signature chiropractor-approved mattresses and those floppy pillows, after a very tedious day. It was actually my third time in a Microtel Hotel but my first in the Wyndham Luisita branch and in Tarlac City for that matter. Microtel by Wyndham Luisita, a 50-room inn, is located outside the hustle and bustle of Tarlac City inside the Hacienda Luisita compound. It is adjacent to the Aquino Center and Museum which houses some memorabilia of the Aquinos. Trees that surround the hotel make your stay all the more relaxing. The friendly and courteous staff deserves to be commended. Free flowing coffee and juices are available at the ground floor while WiFi access is available in the rooms for a fee but is free in the lobby.

Microtel by Wyndham - Luisita is a good hotel choice whether you're on business or there for weekends if you plan to visit Mount Pinatubo, Capas Shrine, Monasterio de Tarlac or try white water rafting in San Jose, which can be arranged by the hotel for your convenience. I decided to spend another night after our Mount Pinatubo adventure since I was not able to tour Tarlac City yet. I ended up sleeping for 16 hours straight! Yes, the longest I had for months. I was fully recharged and ready for the next day's adventure. The green surroundings were so inviting - a perfect backdrop for an early morning run and I regretted not bringing my running shoes. I truly had a great stay at Mictrotel Luisita and will definitely consider staying here again...with my running shoes.
