It is most prominent places of Sikh and Hindu people of India.

Gurdwara Data Bandi Chorh Sahib is associated with the imprisonment of Guru Har Gobind Sahib in Gwalior Fort and his celebrated release in which he won the freedom of 52 Rajas who had long suffered imprisonment in the Fort.

The word "Bandi" means "imprisoned", "Chhor" means "release"

Pilgrims from all over the country visit this Gurdwara to pay homage to sikh Guru Hargobind.

I went to Gwalior fort and came to know about this Gurudwara which is near to the Scindia school. Around 1 pm, I reached near the entrance of Gurudwara. I was carrying a big rucksack with me. An old man came to me and asked where I was from. He asked me to go to langar and have prasad. I had prasad at the Langar. Later in the afternoon it started raining heavily. The old man informed about the availability of rooms at the Gurudwara premise. I had no place to go so I preferred to stay in the Gurudwara instead of going to Hotel. The rain stopped in evening and I went for a walk towards the Manmandir palace. It was a beautiful evening. I returned to Gurudwara and helped in the kitchen. It was my first experience of serving food at Langar.

After having dinner I sat with other sikh pilgrims who were staying at the dharamshala in Gurudwara. There was very heavy rain that night. Next day in the morning I left the place and went to roam around the city.

Memories of my experience of staying in Gurudwara will stay with me forever. The kind and nice people I met, the prasad food and the beauty of the gurudwara is what made it an unforgettable experience.
