It is both; hampi is all about temples situated near the banks of Tungabhadra River
Explore your Spiritual Self in Virupaksha Temple, Admire the Stone Chariot and witness the mesmerizing sunset from Matanga Hill
Once done exploring the temples and witnessing an amazing sunset from Matanga Hill , now it is the time to explore the other side of River i.e. Hippie Island
Hippie Island (Virupapura Gadde) is the best place to stay and to chill and relax.
Rent a moped to make the most out of your trip.
Relax by the Sanapur Waterfall in the afternoon and by the lake in the evening and camping at night by the Lake.
What else you need, also do not forget to visit famous Hanumanhali Temple for which you gotta climb 575 steps.

Hospet to Hampi -Take a bus ride it Will only cost you 15rupees, or take Auto which would cost around 250INR
