Day 1

It all started to plan a trip somewhere outside India within a limited budget. We decided a place Bali and started planning it with our group planning manager Kirti(She has MBA in some other area of-course :)).But due to some reasons we have to cancel it.Then comes the decision that we are going to cherish for our whole life.We were group of three and already had some money saved and taken holiday in advanced as well.So our manager searched through internet and decided to go Handuman or what we call it Andmans. I was a bit confused about this trip because I heard some cyclone just 3 days prior to our trip start date. But we decided to face this challenge which comes out the most memorable decision. We border the bus from Pune to catch a flight from Mumbai. We had one lay over in Chennai. We reached Portblair in afternoon. We had already booked our hotel which was located near to central office from where we can get all the permits and tickets required to go to different island. We didn't have the permit and ticket for JollyBuoy island. We asked the person to whom we have contacted earlier he told us all tickets are sold. But we wanted to try it from our side and finally through government office we got the ticket and permit. For Jolly Buoy you have to take a permit as only limited number of persons are allowed to visit in a day and also there is only government ferry allowed to visit there. After getting the ticket we decided to visit nearby places as we had some time left.We booked an auto rushed to the first beach visit in Andmans Corbyn's Cove Beach. It was nice and calm. After spending some time there we came back to our hotel to prepare for next day adventure.

Day 2

Now the Day 2 started in a hurry to catch the government ferry which will leave from wandoor beach which was 20 kms away from our hotel. We booked a vehicle for to and fro in 1500.You are not allowed to carry any plastic items with you.For water they will give you the vessels in which you can fill up.Jetty opens generally around 7:30.So you have to reach there by 7:15.JollyBuoy beach open for 6 months. And after 6 months another island named as Red Skin will be open.JollyBuoy island is closed for 6 months to preserve it's coral beauty. On jollyBuoy island only two kind of activities you can do. Snorkeling and Glass boat ride. And I will suggest to go for snorkeling. It is the best experience you will get in your Andman journey.Island is open only till 2:00 PM.After that you have to return to wandoor. If you want you can look around wandoor beach as well.It is very near to the place where ferry will leave you. After that we had our lunch. And headed for next stop. And that was chidiya tapu. This place is 45 mins drive from Portblair and open till 5:00 Pm.This spot is famous for it's sunset view. But we were lucky to get the glimpse of sunset due to cloudy weather.Day 2 ends with dinner at Punjabi Dhaba near our hotel. In Andman for vegetarians you will not find many options. But this place is awesome. This place is near Gurudwara.

Day 3

Day 3 was dedicated to NorthBay and Ross Island. From PortBlair you have to take Ferry to Ross and same ferry will take you to North Bay.It will cost you 600 INR fro to and fro ferry.Buy something to eat in advance as on Ross options are limited and expensive.Ferry will start around 9:00.It will take 45 min for Ross. They will drop you on Ross and give you some estimated time to stay on Ross. You have to cover the Ross in the given time. For us it was little less.As you Cann't cover whole island in 45 minutes. This place is known for it's strategic location. It can be viewed from Andman Jail. This place acted as Administrative headquarters for British government until 1941 when an earthquake rocked this beautiful place.Ruined can still be seen on this. This island was named after marine surveyor Captain Daniel Ross.you will find ruins of Church,Administartive blocks, bakery etc.Now this island is taken over by Indian Navy. You may find deers roaming around. After staying there for given time,We moved towards NorthBay coral Island. This place is quite commercialized. This place is known for SeaWalk,Snorkling and scuba diving. There is lighthouse from some distance to beach. It is good place to view the whole island. You can stay here till 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM.They will give you sufficient time to explore.eating options are also available. After spending there 4 hours we left for our Hotel.

Day 4

We have booked markruz for travel from PortBlair to Neil,Havelock and back to Port Blair. This is high speed passenger ferry operated between Port Blair and Havelock. It will take you Neil in one hour from Port Blair. Neill Island was uninhabited until the arrival of settlers in the late 1960s. Like Havelock, the vast majority of settlers at Neill were refugees from erstwhile Bangladesh, following the exodus of Hindu Bangladeshis prior to that country's war of independence in 1971.So some names are given according to that.Main attraction on this beach is Lakshmanpur,Bharatpur and Sitapur beaches. As soon as we arrived we rushed to our booked Hut.Yes it was hut named as Elephant and Four wise men managed by a Bengali man and his Ukrainian partner. This facility is in center of the island.Every beach is within 3 or 4 kms away. Two options for touring either take bicycle, scooty or book an auto. After changing we booked an auto in 500 for Bharatpur beach,Natural Bridge and Lakshmanpur beach.First stop was Bharatpur beach. In all islands the color of water will attract you.three combinations blue, green and mix of green and blue.We were also discussing about the science behind this color change.I was not able to keep me away from this beautifully painted ocean. And this beach is ideal for swimming. We stay in water for 3 hour straight. We got skin burn after that. After that we had lunch on the same beach. The next stop was natural bridge.Situated in Neil Island, Andaman this place takes you through a walk through a slippery dirt road. Walking can be challenging for people not fit enough. But on reaching the sight, one is astounded by the rock formation. The beach is relaxing but full of rocks. After that we moved to Lakshmanpur beach which is best location for sunset. After chasing sun on last two occasions finally we get the glimpse of beautiful sunset. We had tea and pakode on the beach itself.Beach was closed after sunset. We were back in our beautiful Hut.In the hut we were accompanied by one traveler from Sweden. We had a good discussion about commercialization of the Andman beaches. He told us how beautiful the place was 4 years back when he visited. We went back early to sleep because in the morning we were going to experience the beautiful sunrise on Sitapur beach which was 4 kms away from our stay.

Day 5

Morning started with walk of 4 kms from where we were staying towards sunrise beach(Sitapur beach). But unfortunately due to cloudy weather we were not able to experience this natural phenomenon. We sat on the beach for 2 hours just watching the waves striking the shores. Our photographer took some photograph. After that we came back to Hut to catch the ferry for Havelock. We reach Havelock in afternoon.Booked auto from jetty to hotel. Our hotel was very near to beach. So it was accessible in the night as well.In all islands there is no night life.Everything closed after 6:00.We decided to cover two main attraction.Kala Pathar beach and Radhanagar beach. You can go to these places using bus service which is every 45 minutes from jetty. KalaPathar beach was beautiful but similar to other beach that we had already visited.Main attraction was Radhanagar beach.Radhanagar beach is given the title of most beautiful beach in Asia. And truly it complements the title given. The waves were most beautiful thing on this beach. We were in water here as well for 2 hours. After that we had lunch on the beach side restaurants. After that we stayed on the beach till sunset.Sunset was beautiful because of white sand and no rock.

Day 6

6th day was also in Havelock. This day was given to Elephant beach, only active beach in Havelock in terms of activities. We decided to go there through trekking. You have to take a Bus from jetty to trekking start point.Elephant beach is just 1.8 km from the starting point. You don't need to take a guide. You can do this trek by yourself.Trek will include routes through dense forest. After 1.8km of trekking we reach to the Elephant beach.Since we had already done snorkeling at JollyBuoy beach we were in no mode to spoil our experience by doing snorkeling here. This place was overcrowded. We sat on the beach done some swimming and also go to the last point of the beach. We came back from this beach around 1:30 as beach closing time was 2:00 PM.

Day 7

On 7th we were back to PortBlair in the same ferry. It takes two hour from Havelock to PortBlair. We decided to watch Light and sound show in Cellular Jail.We bought ticket from the counter and waited in a queue. If you are interested in History of Andmans,do watch this show. You will get an insight about the tough life of prisoners here.

Things To Note Down Before Traveling to Andmans:

1.There is no working mobile connection on some island so try to buy BSNL SIM.

2.There is very less internet connectivity so either download the tickets or take a print of it.

3.Always wear Sun screen.

4.Try to book ferry's in advance.

5.Peak season is from September to March.
