not unusual to find trash left behind

Hassandistrict is approximately 170 kms from Bangalore and you can take the newly tar road (NH) towards Hassan. The road is in absolutely good condition except for minor speed bumps at 3-4 crossings. The district is very big. My destination from Hassan after visiting the Hasanamba temple was Shettihali Rosary church (Famous for being submerged under water during rainy season)

Shettihali church is a diversion on the national highway from Hassan city. The road is very narrow and not much activity is observed on this road. The road is very bumpy. But once you cover the 18kms from main highway the view on a pleasant day is breath taking. The church resembles reminiscence of French architecture. Its sad to see that the place is not maintained by the local body / government.

The drive from Bangalore started at around 07:00 in morning and i reached Hassan at around 10:15, mind it even at 07:00 in morning to leave Bangalore it takes 1.2hours easily and the traffic is getting pathetic by the minute. Once left Bangalore, it's a smooth sailing till you reach Hassan.

Advise to take a return toll tax in case you coming back the same day (i was on a very tight schedule and hence had to return same day) - Total cost incurred is 270/- INR

Diesel cost around 1400/-

Food cost around 250/-

The country side is very beautiful and the road trip will just make you feel in love with the nature and it's gift to us mortals.

I would recommend to stay in Hassan for a day and explore few other places surrounding the area which are of a great importance to the culture. Also its mandatory to visit the place in rainy season when the church is half submerged in the water (seems as if the church is floating)
