Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary is 14 km from Jamnagar City. Situated in Khijadiya Village. In This Bird Sanctuary , about 300 species of migratory birds visit the Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary. I Visited from my own city jamnagar. Entry per person to sanctuary is 40 Rs, camera charge 200 Rs, there is two part, in part 1 you have to walk so carry water bottle with you, and for part 2 you can drive your vehicle (if its 4 Wheler than you have to pay 400 Rs.). And you are local person from this village or Jamnagar city then you can ride your bicycle here. which is cost zero. and you can visit both part with your bicycle. Best time to visit is from September till February–March.
This place is Heaven For Migratory birds & Bird lovers... and yes if you are photographer than must visit place for you. Early morning time..6.00a.m to 9.00a.m is best for bird watching , viewing and photography. In evening time, photos are not clear due to sun and its reflection in water. If you are bird watcher and interested in visiting do visit in winter season early morning. Carry Binoculars if you have. and good camera to click birds. The sanctuary is unique having both fresh water lakes, salt and freshwater. Area of this bird Sanctuary is 6.05 km. In winter the sanctuary provides is a panorama of both migratory and resident birds like the Grey hypocolius, Forest wagtail, Grey-necked bunting, Black-headed bunting, Greylag goose, European roller, black-necked stork, Great white pelican and many more...
So if you are bird lover and photographer then this place is heaven for you, must visit place for you.
