Hong Kong tourist attractions include the daily skyscraper light show, Happy Valley horse track, Victoria Peak mountain, Star Ferry, and Hong Kong Disneyland.
Hong Kong skyscraper light show every evening is one of the most popular attractions in Hong Kong. Hong Kong skyscrapers are a sight in by themselves, as their number in the city is the highest in the world, over 7,500.
Each evening, at 8 pm, the skyscrapers at the Hong Kong city harbor are illuminated with a light show, which includes lasers and massive spotlights.
According to some estimates, the show is best viewed from one of the most famous bars and restaurants in Hong Kong, Felix, located at the roof level of the Peninsula Hotel.
Hong Kong Jockey Club's world-famous Happy Valley horse race track is the older of the two horse race tracks in the city (the other is the Sha Tin horse track), and it is located at the Happy Valley neighborhood in Hong Kong.
The track was built originally in 1845 and the owner of the track Hong Kong Jockey Club (hkjc.com) is a non-profit organization that also, in addition to the horse races, runs lottery and betting in Hong Kong.
In the race track premises, you can also find the Hong Kong Jockey Club Archives and Museum, which is located at the second floor of the race track building.
Sha Tin race track, owned by the same organization, is also worth the experience, and it is bigger, fitting around 80,000 people on the lecterns.
Victoria Peak mountain is the most popular of Hong Kong tourist attractions, and it is located at the Hong Kong Island, right in the front of the Hong Kong downtown harbor.
The peak of the mountain, which is at the height of 552 meters, has an observation deck from which you can see breathtaking views over the modern, skyscraper dominated silhouette of Hong Kong.
From the peak you can see downtown Hong Kong, Victoria harbor, as well as the islands in front of Hong Kong.
The most popular ways to tour Victoria Peak is to either take the double-decker bus 15C, which departs from the Star Ferry harbor, or to take the historic cable car drive, which departs from the foot of the mountain.
If you take the double-decker bus, you should go to the upper level of the bus, from where the views are much more panoramic than from the lower level.
Another way to experience the skyscraper silhouette from afar, in addition to the Victoria Peak is to take the Star Ferry ferry-cruise (starferry.com.hk) from Victoria harbor, using one of the four possible routes.
Most popular of them is the "Harbour Tour" route, which is a route designed especially for tourists, and it stops at all the regions visitor harbors: Tsim Sha Tsui, Central, Wan Chai, and Hung Hom.
Hong Kong tourist attractions also include Hong Kong Disneyland (hongkongdisneyland.com), which opened its doors to visitors in 2005, and it is located at Penny's Bay, Lantau Island.
Like other Disney amusement parks in the world, it has been divided into four different themes: Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, Adventureland and Tomorrowland.
The amusement park highlights include Sleeping Beauty castle, Space Mountain roller coaster, and the Tarzan Treehouse at the Tarzan island.
The amusement park also provides daily parades "Disney on Parade" and "Disney in the Stars", as well as the nightly fireworks show.
