The travel starts from Chennai Central Railway station sharply at 4.45 PM. I boarded a journey through Hyderabad Express (12603). The train was packed with passengers and I sat at the window seat to enjoy seeing the training view of the world. After crossing Basin bridge, Tondiarpet, Tiruvottiyur, Ennore creek, the train reached Sullurpeta around 6.05 Pm. On reaching Sullurpeta, you can visit Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Indian Space Research Organisation, Sriharikota and Pulicat bird sanctuary. There will be a Flamingo festival in Pulicat during the month of February.
At around 8.30, I slept in the middle berth of S12 coach. Yes, its the longest train with 23 coaches with 72 seats per coach. Approximately I was travelling with around 1656 passengers. For sure, you won't get complete sleep on the train. With a half sleep and half imaginations, I woke up at around 5.00 and highly enthused about visiting Telangana. Since it's my first visit to Telangana. Without directly visiting Hyderabad, I stepped down at Secunderabad, the twin city of Hyderabad. Oh my god! At around 5.15, the streets adjacent to railway stations filled with street eateries. I didn't know what people were eating either their early breakfast or late dinner at that time. I realized these towns were no night sleeping towns.
I took a room through OYO app "Prince Residency" near Secunderabad railway station. The cost of the room around 500INR per day. I took a small nap again in the bed and refreshed with a cold water bath. Dressed in a blue Denim Shirt and Jean, laced my shoes and kept my bags in the room. The journey starts with a Hyderabad Metro from Secunderabad East metro station to Ameerpet metro. To reach CHARMINAR, I took another metro train from Ameerpet to M.G.Bus station. While travelling in the metro, i looked down the city through window glass. The city still has old Nizam buildings, either they converted into colleges, museums, railway station, hotels. Later I had a conversation with the local man in the metro. He said, with the introduction of Metro service and the city has lost many buildings for the safety of people due to the poor structural stability of the building. And also he talked about Hyderabad cuisines, Briyani and Irani Chai, Charminar, Golconda Fort, Nizamsagar lake, eateries such as Bawarchi, Shah gHouse, Armaan, Shadaabh Hotel, Naayab for Briyani; Shahran for Kabab roti; Nimraah Cafe, Naayab shadab for Irani Chai and Osamania biscuits; Pista House for Sweets and Cakes, Karachi Bakery, Alfa, Paradise.etc
Once I reached M.G Bus station, I got an auto to reach 16th-century old architecture CHARMINAR. For reaching Charminar from M.G.Bus station metro, the automan charged around 100INR. At around 8.30, I thought Charminar filled with a buzzing crowd and its difficult to move an inch. But the reality is different, Nizam people used to work starts at 3 PM to 3 AM the next day. They are night people because at Hyderabad I felt tired easily with a scorching sun and the sweat was not coming out from my body.
Charminar the icon of Hyderabad constructed by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah at the intersection of the historical trade route that connects the Golconda market with a port city of Machilipattinam. There was an entry fee for visiting inside Charminar.
After visited Charminar, I entered into the tea shop named Nimrah Bakery since 1993. They provide an excellent Irani chai with Osmania biscuits which u should never miss when u visit Hyderabad. Irani cafes were originally opened by Zoroastrian Irani immigrants to modern India.
Then I took a bus from Charminar to Salar Jung Museum. The museum has varied art and antiques from Asia and Europe. It was established in 1951, the ancestral palace of the Salar Jungs who served as Prime Minister to the Nizams. The museum has large collections and works of art of European, Middle Eastern, chronicles of rich Indian heritage dating from the Mauryan to the Mughal dynasty and the rule of the Nizams in Hyderabad. The entry fee for visiting the museum is 20INR.
It took around 2 hours to complete seeing all art and antiques in the museum. The time u spent here is highly valued and it gets backs to you in the medieval days of the world.
After visiting the museum, i felt hungry. So I entered into the PISTA HOUSE, the bakery and cake shop. And I had a Juicy Chicken sandwich (60INR) and Black forest(20INR). I booked a taxi through Ola from here to Sanjeevaiah Park(200INR). The park located on the edge of Nizamsagar lake where the standing Buddha in the middle of the lake. You can visit in the evening and try boating to Buddha statue which I missed. I visited Sanjeevaih park in the afternoon. The trees in the park helped me to avoid the scorching heat in the city. I learnt the importance of trees in our day to day life. Without trees, people will suffer from heat stroke. Every year in the month of April and May, you might read in the newspaper, the people lost their lives in Hyderabad due to heatstroke. So, don't mess with nature.
Inside the park, there were cinema vans, power generator. When I enquired with the park staff, he told some Tamil cinema shooting. When I approached near the shooting spot, the tall guy who was standing near the spot and there was an arrangement of lights for an evening shoot. And it is for the movie " Ner Konda Parvai" starring Ajith Kumar and the tall guy is H.Vinoth, the director of Dheeran Adhigaram ondru.
I had to catch the Chennai express train at 5.15 at Secunderabad railway station. I left the park at 3 o clock. There was a station near the park- Sanjeevaih park station. I caught the EMU train to Secunderabad railway station. I reached the room luckily at the time and ordered Paradise briyani through Zomato. I felt it's a great sin to leave Hyderabad without tasting biryani in Hyderabad.
