How often does it happen that suddenly, for no good reason, everything around you seems to calm down and you are just content with what you are, where you are! Well, I felt it while gazing at the endless ocean, with rainbow in the backdrop and cold winds hitting my face.
This same time last year, I visited Australia (winters) and my friend in Melbourne took us on a drive to Great Ocean Road (GOR). The drive from Melbourne city to GOR and back took us the the whole day. That’s partly because we made several stops on the way (you need time to absorb the surrounding) and went all the way to to the magnificent 12 Apostles. Pictures don’t do any bit of justice to this blissful drive, you have to experience it yourself.
Don’t forget to grab breakfast at hungry jacks (jalapeño poppers were delicious!) just before GOR entrance.
Pro tip:
1.There are many group tours available for GOR which takes you there in bus, but half of the fun is gone if the view from bus window is restricted. If you can drive, I would recommend to hire a car and experience the drive of your lifetime.
2.Indian driving licence works well in Melbourne.
3. Start your day early and don’t rush, you won’t get to see such wonders every day.
4. If you are keen to spend a night in GOR, there are many Airbnb available. Go for the ones with Ocean view.
