Day 1

Let me be honest,  I was not very keen to visit this place because I thought it wasn't going to be that great as I read about it.

But,  when I reached Udaipur and realised I have one more day to explore the place and I was already done with the local places and main attractions.  I realised that visit to Kumbalgarh was destined.

The problem started when we had to look out for transport to Kumbalgarh from Udaipur.
Though Udaipur has lot of Bike rentals on the Lake Pichola road,  but none agreed to give us for the Kumbalgarh Ride,  according to them 100kms one way via Scooty was too much to do.

I was disappointed and lost hope and came back to #Zostel Udaipur. The man behind the reception helped me immediately with the contact details of a scooty rental and I got my scooty in less than half n hour for 500rs for 24hours.
I will forever be thankful to #Zostel and their amazing assistance.

I left early morning at 6 for the journey,  though the fort opens at 9 am.
I stopped by at the #PeacockRestaurant for breakfast.
I loved the rooftop ambience and the amazing breakfast they had to offer.

The ride of 100kms didn't feel much though and in no time I reached this place.
Trust me on this... Even being 200mts away from the fort,  I couldn't see the fort.

I realised hence this fort is also called the Security Fort.

As I stepped in and started the climb to the fort... I was mesmerized with the gigantic pillars and stairs.

I went half away and couldn't walk anymore and thought of coming down.  However the guard cleaning the fort told me the story and also the birth of Maharana Pratap here.
He convinced me to climb another 20 stairs to experience the view of Udaipur from the top.

I agreed and moved up all the way and to my surprise... I wasn't able to stand due to the gush of the wind.
The view was breathtaking.  Could see the entire city and literally Rajasthan from there.
I couldn't agree more to the guard that the best view is only at Kumbalgarh.

I turned around to the other side and witnessed what I heard so much about this place,  The Great Wall Of India. It's a treat to visit such place and experience the feeling of watching something and realizing the great ideas and talent our Country has in terms of architecture and innovation and how the fort is hidden between the mountains for protection back in those days.
