HISTORY

Devotees from distinct parts of the world started the activities of ISKCON like arranging Sankirtans on streets, small as well as the large public programs and enrollment of life members across various parts of South India including Bangalore, Madras, Hubli, etc. Around 1976 and they finally registered society under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 in the year 1978. The society abides by Srila Prabhupada's 7 purposes of ISKCON.

ISKCON Temple Bangalore was inaugurated by Hon. Shankar Dayal Sharma, 9th President of India in May 1977. The 56ft high gold-plated flag post and 28ft high gold plated Kailash Shikara are the highlights of this artistic temple and it consists of 6 deities - Sri Sri Radhakrishnachandra, Sri Srinivasa Govinda, Sri Prahlada Narasimha, Sri Nitai Gauranga, Sri Sri Krishna Balarama as well as Sri Hanuman and Sri Garuda.

Every Morning - 4:30 AM to 5 AM.

Monday to Friday - 7:15 AM to 1 PM and 4 PM to 8:20 PM.

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays - 7:15 AM to 8:30 PM.

ISKCON TEMPLE BANGALORE ENTRY FEE AND FACILITIES

There is no entry fee charged to the devotees visiting the ISKCON Temple Bangalore and the temple provides clean drinking water, 24x7 security, proper queue management, footwear stand, etc.

SOCIAL SERVICES

ISKCON Temple Bangalore serves a free palatable lunch prasadam consisting of rice, sabzi, sambar, buttermilk and sweet every day from 11:30 AM to 2 PM.

The Donor Care Center (DCC) of ISKCON Temple Bangalore witnesses the participation of multitudinous donors and patrons in the charitable and devotional activities of the temple.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is an initiative started by one of the members of ISKCON Temple Bangalore in 2001, which has gone on to become the largest NGO-run Mid-day Meal Programme in the world. It is involved in providing Mid-day meals to the children of India's government and government-aided schools and reaches about 18,02,517 children in 51 kitchens across 12 states and 2 union territories of India. Akshaya Patra Foundation has been working in partnership with the State and Central governments in order to provide quality meals on all school days across 16,856 schools in India.
