Since the land of royals is a tasteful concoction of romance, Indian Railways is taking grand efforts to connect couple travellers to this majestic destination. And what could be a better occasion than the upcoming Karwa Chauth?
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp Ltd (IRCTC) is set to unveil special trains called “Majestic Rajasthan” that will cover popular destinations such as Agra, Jodhpur, Jaipur and Jaisalmer during the Karva Chauth festival.
When and where:
The special trains will be launched on 14 October and will depart from the Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi until the 19th of October (17th October is the Karwa Chauth eve).
Road map:
Departing from New Delhi, it will begin with a tour of the abandoned Havelis of Mandawa, a tiny princely town on the ancient Silk Route from the Middle East to China. Further, will cover popular as well as romantic historical places Rajasthan such as Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon ki Haveli, Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Amber Fort, City Palace, among others.
The IRCTC plans to offer this package for couples, including journey by exclusive air-conditioned (AC) train as per the itinerary, day-use rooms in Jaipur in 3-4 star hotels, road transport by AC deluxe coaches, monument visits, jeep ride at Amber Fort and camel cart ride at Sam sand dunes.

Couples get to celebrate Karva Chauth inside gorgeous tents, as the moonlight illuminates the vast sand dunes in Jaisalmer, followed by a cultural show on 17th October 2019, as per the itinerary.
About the train:
This brand-new train will have four first AC coaches with 96 seats, two second AC coaches with 60 seats, two exclusive dining cars with a capacity of 64 guests in each, and a pantry car. "The train is covered with unique Vinyl Wrap promoting Incredible India and also equipped with personal digital lockers, cubicles shower, foot massagers, separate sitting area with single-seated sofas, CCTV Camera surveillance for better security, very early smoke detection alarm system for better safety and state of art kitchen car equipped with latest equipment serving international delicacies," according to the IRCTC spokesperson.
Food:
Majestic Rajasthan train has two fine dining restaurants with seating capacity of 64 seats each and everyone on board dines together.
Cost:
Rs 1,02,960 per couple in AC first tier and Rs 90,090 per couple in AC 2 Tier.
This includes services in different languages, the entrance fee of monuments/locations as per itinerary and also travel insurance up to Rs 10 lakhs.
There will be no concessional tickets in the train, children below five years have been exempted from the fare. For children between the ages 5 and 12 years, 50% of the fare will be charged and will be provided with seats.
