The best kind of therapy is Beach Therapy...

As the saying goes by - Your engineering is kind of incomplete without that mandate GOA Trip. And as we have to pass this course also, we 12 friends took a trip to Tarkarli and Goa.

Our Itinerary:

Surat-Mumbai-Tarkarli-Goa-Surat

Day 1 and 2 - Tarkarli

After taking an overnight train journey from Mumbai to Kudal, nearest Railway Station near Tarkarli, we headed towards Malvan Beach in Tarkarli.

Tarkarli - For those who haven't heard of this place before, it is a small village in Sindhudurg district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Tarkarli offers you various water sports - Scuba Diving, Parasailing, Banana Ride, Bumper Ride, Jet-Skii, Water Scooter, Boat Ride and that too in very cheap rates and the best part is that it is very less crowded than Goa and we did total 7 water sports including Scuba in Malvan beach and other 6 in Devbaugh Beach in INR 2200 only. Contact Number - (8007337656) Salgaokar Beach Resort, Tarkarli. You can contact at this number for the same.

Water was very clean and coral reefs was just too beautiful to be swimming around them. After doing Scuba we headed towards our pre-booked Beach resort to stay for the night.

Our instructor told us to wake up early if we don't want to miss the Dolphin show, but we missed it somehow and then after doing other 6 activities we took the bus to Goa, around 160 Kms from Tarkarli.

Day 3 and 4 - Goa

After doing all the Water sports in Tarkarli itself, we had ample amount of time to explore Goa with peace. The Goa to Tarkarli distance is 123 km via NH 66. It takes a little over 3 hours to travel from Tarkarli to Goa. Firstly we hired 6 bikes in just INR 300 per bike.

Best months to visit Goa - Early November to Mid February. In this span of months, everything is highly costly - rented bikes, accommodations and food too. As we went in early April it was cheaper but at the same time weather was too hot to handle. We rented a flat (3BHk) for 4 nights near Calangute Beach.

We explored Chapora Fort (Dil Chahta Hai Fort), Vagator Beach and then went to do some clubbing in Tito's near Baga Beach.

Next morning we headed towards Anjuna Flea Market, which opens only on Wednesday of every week. It was a nice place, it is rare to see some foreigner selling things to Indian and that too in high prices. Then we went to Arambol Beach, it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa, it was less crowded and the road leading towards it was so secluded and peaceful, you get a taste of local life in between those roads.

Day 5 - Dudhsagar Waterfalls, Goa

Early morning we left for Dudhsagar Waterfalls which is around 90 Kms from Calangute. The weather was with us and we hardly saw Sun that day. The trail leading to Dudhsagar Waterfalls is surrounded by a deciduous forests with a rich bio diversity. We were charged INR 250 per person for the transportation to the waterfall and back to the parking space and in between one hour stay at the place where you can be literally beneath the waterfall. After riding back to Goa, we went to Baga Beach in night to enjoy the famous shacks of Goa.

Day 6 - Back to Surat

After bidding goodbyes to our Flat owner, we headed towards Thivim Railway Station to board our 16-17 hour long journey to Surat.

Due to shortage of time we missed Old Goa and Panji, will go there again for sure.

Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living. So

Keep Travelling...!!!
