Day 1

We, a Group of 4 friends were waiting on 26.01.2020 at the Indira Gandhi International airport for early morning flight to Bagdogra (West Bengal). We planned to go to Darjeeling then Gangtok and finally to Nathu-la Pass.

We boarded the flight at 05:30 am and reached Bagdogra around 07:30 am. From there, we hired a taxi to Darjeeling and got the same from just outside the airport. Bagdogra to Darjeeling is around 67 kms. We started our journey from Bagdogra to Darjeeling in hired taxi (Innova). Normally it doesn't take too much time to reach Darjeeling, But it took us around around 04:30-05:00 hours to reach there.

we arrived there on the Republic day and we saw a completely different way of their celebration. What they do is, they carry music systems (Dj Speakers) on vehicles and keep on dancing in them. Due to the crowd and so many vehicles, we got stuck in the jam at various places in West Bengal. Finally around 04-04:30 we reached Darjeeling and upon reaching there we went to our rooms and relaxed there. Sight seeing from Bagdogra to Darjeeling was not that much attractive (personally i didn't find that good).

Day 2

We Spent next day in Darjeeling for local sight seeing and in the evening we started travelling for Gangtok because we didn't want to miss Nathu la pass and Gangtok beauty.

At Late night around 9 we reached Gangtok and went to a hotel where we got the rooms. During the journey we booked the taxi for next day for Nathu la and gave him papers to apply for passes. ( If you have to go to Nathu-la you have to apply for pass only then you can go). on that day we didn't see anything in Gangtok, because Market there got closed around 09:00 pm.

Day 3

In the next morning we were ready for day's journey. we did our breakfast in hotel itself and then we got a call from our taxi driver that he couldn't apply for our passes due to being late for apply. All of us just got disappointed because we don't want to miss Nathu la.

We decided to explore the Gangtok local for this day and applied again for the passes. At the end of the day, we got the passes. and after the news my friends could see a bigger smile on my face.

Day 4

Next day we started heading for Nathu La pass. You have to go for security check first to go there. We completed our security check at around 09:00 am and keep on going. View of the way was really good that you do not want to skip a single scene. At around 11:00 am we reached Baba Harbhajan Temple (road was closed for Nathu La pass, so we have to stop at Baba Temple). This Baba temple got a beautiful story which tells us that this Baba is doing its duty even after death and no intruder got the guts to come here. (Story of Patriotism).

View of Baba Temple is really awesome and it was -7 degree temperature there and my heart was still melting for it. wind was so fast that you cannot even stand properly. You can imagine the beauty from the views that i have shared. A frozen Lake, Tricolor Flag at around 12000 ft. approx. height- A perfect combination.

At around 2:00 pm, we had to leave from there and we came to our hotel and from there we traveled to Siliguri (West Bengal) for our return journey.

Day 5

On Next day morning, we boarded the flight and came back to our home.

A tour to North east demands around 10-12 days. Some points left here now, I will definitely be coming back to cover those areas.
