Jibhi: In Love with a Quaint Corner!

Whenever a long weekend approaches there is always an itch to bunk work or escape to obscure new places. Whether you are a beach person or mountain explorer, you never want to miss a chance to live the globetrotter in you. The icing on the cake is if you can manage a trip in a pocket-friendly way. In line with this here I am writing about my last trip to Jibhi, an unexplored scenic hamlet in Himachal Pradesh.

Beginning of a Kickass Trip!

I must call it as a bro-trip, as all my people were in and we set to explore an unexplored paradise in the Himalayan foothills. It is 30 minutes drive from Banjar Valley. This place is no less than heaven with lush green mountains surrounded by cedar, pine and deodar trees. The place is located on the Simla-Manali route, 1 hour drive from out.

- Hot Weekend Getaway!

Situated on the bank of Tirthan River, the place can be a perfect option for a weekend escape from the sedentary grind of the busy life. The quiet rumble of the river, chirping of birds in the morning, rustle leaves everything that makes this place a quaint nest for peace. Above all, it can be explored in a minimum budget.

Day 1: Here Comes Flawless Tranquility of Nature

On our day 1, after reaching the hotel Cedar View, which was booked through OYO Rooms. We took a quick nap and out to explore the local places. The caretaker the hotel who was a local Himachali guided us about some of the tourist spots nearby. One of them was Jibhi Waterfall. It was hardly a half an hour walk from the hotel. So, we decided to walk. Meanwhile, we looked for a place to satisfy our hunger. As Jibhi is not commercialized, it is quite difficult to find a marketplace or you might wrap up with limited options. Surprisingly, I found the food throughout our stay devilishly delicious. And it is quite rare in the other hills. After finishing our lunch, we headed towards Jibhi Waterfall. Some of the glimpses while trekking:

And from here it all started!

The pic was taken during our 20 minutes holt at Auto. It was around 5m in the morning and a cup of tea was all we wanted.

Seeing this we couldn’t resist capturing the beauty of this place

This view was from our hotel balcony. It was the first glimpse of Jibhi we encountered and that took away all our exhaustion.

Photo enthusiasts like me never miss a chance to pose

Here comes the part

As I already have mentioned the food was delicious during our stay throughout, this bunch was from a local restaurant where we had our lunch while going to Jibhi Waterfall.

Just to satisfy my excitement- this comfy dress is from shein.com, jacket from @Levis and shoes from @Stilettos. And all three go hand in hand when it comes to show some fashion sense.

It happened to be the cutest creature

And we found him all sudden. He kept following us, matching his steps and posing with us. And that’s how he became the most adorable thing that happened that day.

And that time, all in my mind was “breathing fresh, thinking fresh and holding fresh”.

Cutest part: Locals in Jibhi

They were too shy to be clicked. But somehow we convinced them and here it comes

Well, I must say the beauty of this place reflects on their face and it reflected on us as well.

Creativity matters! And here comes my creativity with a pebble

I’m not sure if the pebble is the right mention but it was not a stone as well. I just found the piece very attractive. And without thinking for a second I stood to pose. Thanks for the click Miss Boss (one of my travel buddies)

With this, Day 1 at Jibhi came to an end. The whole day spent amidst nature, excitement and fun. Quality time spent with mother nature, a quintessential dose of mental peace more. Above all I was happy! By holding the memories and hoping for an exciting adventure next day, we went to sleep.

Day 2: Serolsar Lake Trekking

As dreamy as it looked, the spectacular outside view in the morning is difficult to explain in words. The stiff cloud-kissed mountain, surrounded by lush green trees and flowers gave it a mighty view. After an hour of relentless glance, I came inside to get ready for our next destination- Serolsar Lake!

The mighty Serolsar Lake

Well, the entire trek was quite difficult for first-timer like me. Although I somehow managed, it was super tiring. At one point my inner strength gave up and we looked for something to eat. Here we found this hut-cum stall where an old man sells Maggie, tea, snacks etc.

Whenever I visit a hill station, I always wonder how these people manage to survive I mean life is very difficult there. The source of income is limited, most of them are shopkeepers at small shops, the profit can be imagined. During the season time, they depend on the inflow of money from the tourist only. While in the snow season they have to go down in the hunt for a living, as this place becomes inconvenient to stay during winters.

And this bowl of Maggie was our only survivor

It took us 5 hours to complete the trek. While returning, it was almost dark and we were the last one our ways through and dense forest. The atmosphere was super eerie. Thankfully, we found a group of travelers and joined them to make our return to Jalori Pass. Around 8 pm we reached our hotel. Due to the whole day exhaustion, we slept immediately.

Day 3: Tirthan Valley

It was our last day at Jibhi. However, we had one more thing to explore and the excitement was still high.

A Brief Background

Valley derived its name from the Tirthan River, which is located in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. The riverside retreat is famous for offering adventure-centric getaway. The river further meets with at This place offers exciting adventures such as fishing at Tirthan river, village hooping, interaction with locals, hidden waterfalls and endless natural beauty. The best part of this place is one can just sit ideally, look at the river, hear the slow rumble and think nothing! Here you go…

After 3 hours of fun and endless clicking, we wrapped up for Aut, to catch our return bus. It was a missed feeling. I hardly spoke as I felt a part of me was left behind. Well, life goes on and every happy ending leads to a new journey.

And with this hope I’m ending my story here. Will come soon with a new then, see you!
