I am gonna share my experiences of my journey from Manali to Rohtang.
Last year In the month of june, I was on a family trip to manali and journey to manali is definitely incomplete without visiting the exquisite Rohtang pass.
How to reach-
You can reach Rohtang by public transport, taxi/cab, bike or your vehicle as well. (For bike and your vehicle you need a permit from SDM office in Manali or you can get permit online as well)
But, we opted for taxi (though booking was quite expensive INR 5000). It’s because of Manali’s cold atmosphere in summers which attracts tons of tourists afflicted by hot indian summers.
Now coming to the journey part-
There is only one thing that motivates me get up early in the morning i.e. travelling around the globe.
Started our journey from manali around 5:00 A.M. (Leave early as possible to save yourself by sick making traffic jams).
A wave of excitement ran through me when we finally left our hotel and I was so enlivened.
We rented tracksuits and rubber boots from a shop enroute. Tracksuits are must, otherwise you won’t be able to enjoy there in the snow and it will also help you to beat the cold.
After that, we had our breakfast and then the most awaited journey to one of the most riskiest road in the world had started.
Full of thrill and excitement and almost touching the skies, the views of snow capped alluring mountains, visually stunning valleys and picturesque views left us astounded.
Though the few moments came in our journey, when we found the routes damn treacherous. Stucked by traffic jams fewer times but there will always be obstacles and challenges that stand in our way to reach the goal.
It took us around 7 hours to reach Rohntang.
Coming to our destination Rohtang part-
For the first time in my life, I actually sat on mountains covered with snows. It was so heavenly feeling over there. The views were beyond our imagination.
I just can’t believe at that time that we reached 13047 feet high.
We spent around 2 hours nearby vyas temple, had our tea on mountains, captured some fascinating views and finally bid adieu to Rohtang.
