Kasol is well known for its cannabis culture and I being a non stoner person contemplated my visit to Kasol. I was unsure about the things that Kasol had to offer me.

But as soon as I woke up to this view of crystal clear rivers and the enthralling view of the hills, I knew I made the right decision to visit this place.

I do believe in love at first sight!

HOW TO REACH :

There are a number of buses running almost daily from ISBT Kashmiri gate, Delhi. Though I would recommend you to take the Himachal Government certified buses which adds to a cost of around 300 INR more. The time duration from Delhi is around 12-14 hours. The buses usually leave you at the doorstep of your hotel since that is the road that runs all along Kasol.

You can take a taxi or a motorbike on per day cost basis. It takes around 800-1200 per day.

FROM KASOL TO KULLU OR MANALI :

As my trip to Kasol was short, I wanted it to be relaxing so that I have a bag full of memories and no regrets! And my hosts at Parvati Kuteer, http://www.parvatikuteer.in/ did everything possible to make Kasol, a safe and soothing experience for me.

Located in the dense coniferous trees, Parvati Kuteer is situated along the banks of Parvati river, across the delightful cluster of villages on the hills. The chirping of the birds, soothing cool forest breeze and the roars of Parvati river is synonymous to music in one’s ear. The sun usually sets by six and then one can enjoy the blanket of stars that fills the sky. The cottage is also located at an optimum distance from the main market, making it an idol stay for your visit to Kasol.

The jungle trail.

Kasol is also called as the Mini Israel of India because of the large number of Israeli tourists coming to this place.

Trying out the most favourite Israeli food -"Schnitzel" from Moon Dance Cafe should definitely be on your list.

If only you could taste pictures!

I had to travel to Manali and I was on a budget. I took a local bus which I got just outside my hotel. The frequency of these buses are very regular. The bus took me to Bhuntar for a cost of 120 INR in about 2 hours. Further from Bhuntar, there are a number of buses running for both Kullu and Manali. The duration from Bhuntar to Manali is not more than 4 hours and the cost is another 300 bucks.

However you can take a taxi directly to Manali from Kasol and it shall cost roughly around 3500- 5000 INR.

Kasol still withholds the natural beauty and trails like these are very common to find admist the coniferous canopies!

Sitting beside the river and painting in peace, well that's how paradise looks like.
