Kedarkantha is one the most famous,crowded and rated winter Himalayan trek.

And it deserves all of these as it is the best Snow Trek in India.

Trek Starts from Sankri Village in Uttarakhand and trek is almost 12Km long and offers mesmerizing views.

Day 1 - Delhi to Dehradun

We boarded Nanda Devi Express from Delhi till Dehradun, we reached at around 5AM and our journey started.

Day 2 - Dehradun to Sankri

We had booked our trekking package with Himalayan Griffon and they had organized a tempo traveller for our journey from Dehradun to Sankri.

Sankri is a beautiful village, which serves as the base camp for several Himalayan treks, one of them is Har Ki Dun trek considered as best treks in India.

Sankri is around 190 KM from Dehradun , and takes around 8 hours to reach , we reached by evening and stayed in Surya lodge Sankri.

Day 3 - Sankri to Juda Ka tal

Next morning our trek started,from Sankri to Juda Ka Tal which is approx 5 Km trek throug the Pine forest and the atmosphere is so calm ,one can easily get lost in the beauty of nature.

It takes around 3-4 Hrs to reach the first camp site, situated next to the frozen Lake.

Juda ka Tal

We stayed in camp, had our dinner and the views at night was beautiful, one can see the galaxy milky Way clear, and if interested can capture night timelapse.

Kedarkantha Base Camp

Day 4 - Juda Ka Tal to Base Camp

We woke up to a good amount of snowfall in the morning a fresh blanket of snow through the whole camp site, made the view mesmerizing.

Or next stop was Kedarkantha Base Camp which was around 4KM from Juda Ka Tal.

Note:- If you are trekking in limited time directly go for Base Camp as it would save you a day's time.

Day 5 - Base Camp to Summit

Next morning was or summit day , it is the most exiting part of the trek.

Views from Kedarkanth summit is out of the world, you can witness sunrise over the mountain ranges which is almost spread in 360 degrees views.

Sunrise over the snow cladded mountains will take away all the tiredness from whole trek.

Kedarkantha Summit

we had to start at around 2AM from base camp , to witness splendid sunrise and reached after a difficult walk of around 3 hours.

Day 5 - Summit to Sankri and back to Dehradun

As we were running out of time and our leave were limited we decided to climb down directly to Sankri from Summit and we reached Sankri at around 3PM,had lunch and booked a cab till Dehradun, as there is no public transport available after morning hours from Sankri, so for traveling you need to book a personal cab.

We reached Dehradun at around 12 in night and took bus to Delhi.

Thus ending our beautiful journey to snow paradise called Kedarkanth.
