Our fist destination in this trip was the Queen of The Arabian Sea. After a slow but quite rejuvenating ride from the Trivandrum International Airport we reached the city which is engulfed by the lush green canopies and a clear blue sky, Kochi. Like a true artist’s canvas, there isn’t any colour you won’t see just anywhere along the streets of Kochi. This city offers the finest Keralian cuisine and is quite filled with street side shops for those who love to pick souvenirs just like me. If you are like me who was preoccupied with the notion of never liking the flavor of coconut oil or milk, wait till you taste the food they offer without creating a big hole in your pocket. Take your time finding solace amidst the hustle bustle of the city and if you have a hard time doing so, let the breath-taking view of the city from the Kochi backwaters help you.

Take yourself away from the city lights and listen to your own heartbeat and see your soul have a conversation with yourself in the beautiful city of Kumarakom. And if you are a person who loves animals and nature more than people, this should truly be your dream destination. It not only casts a spell on you but can also comfort a timid mind.

It is set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the state of Kerala, so get yourself inside one the many exquisite houseboats available for rent and well, find the horizon. Try your luck spotting any of the many species of birds that visit the bird sanctuary located in the city.

Next up was the alluring coasts of Kovalam. Besides looking a dream, the city offers an abounding number of delicacies. If you lose the count of sheep, go out on the streets of Kovalam at nightfall and let the magnificent sight at the Lighthouse Beach captivate you. It's sporadic beam render the beach with an unearthly charm.

Hear your soul tell you how amazing it feels in the calm streets of Kerala. Hear your heart throb as a vigorous wave hits the shore of the Lighthouse Beach. Don't look for solace in the luxury of hotels instead look for it while paddling through the backwaters of Kochi. Let the taste of freshly cooked Thalassary Biriyani cast a spell on you and a cup of hot Nilgiri Tea drain you from your stress. Lose count of the number of coconut trees in Kovalam and let the alluring tropical paradise captivate you in its splendid mural. Get up, pack your bags and book a one way ticket to Kerala, it is highly unlikely that you'd ever regret your decision. Take a chance at self-exploration and you'd end up with many stories to narrate and an experience of a lifetime.
