Me and my two friends booked 'Kuari Pass Trek' Through 'Trek The Himalayas'.We started from mumbai by 'Dehradun Express' on 2nd January 2015 Reached Haridwar on 3rd January 2015. Stayed in Hotel King for mere Rs. 400/- per room. Next day we went to Joshimath by a car from TTH which picked us up at 6.30 am from Haridwar Station. Its a 12 hour drive from Haridwar covering Rushikesh, Devprayag and many scenic views. From this point everything was organised by TTH. We stayed in joshimath in night and left for Dhak village; from where the actual trek started. Trek started at moderate level hiking but then eased a little bit. Throughout the trekking time, we could see the gigantic himalayas covered in snow, though there was no snow in our trail yet.

In Himalayas sun sets before 6 pm. Trust do not miss the sunsets and sunrises in Himalayas, they are nothing but grand. Because of the snow fall we could not complete the trek to Kuari pass and had to come back to the camp skipping Auli. On the last day of trek we came back to Joshimath and roamed around. Next day we went to Mumbai through Haridwar-Delhi.

Some tips:

1. If going by train to Haridwar don't forget to eat Dal Vadas at Lakshar Station.

2. In Haidwar visit Har ki Paudi, Hoshiyarpuri Dhaba, and Chotiwala. Have Aloo Chaat, and Rabdi at the bank of river Ganga.

You can see the detailed itinerary at : http://www.winterkuaripass.com/Default.aspx .

Going to Haridwar is pure happiness! when visiting the place do go to Har ki Paudi to see the Ganga Aarti, and then indulge in delicious Punjabi food at Hoshiyarpuri Dhaba.
