Day 1

We took bus from Bangalore to Kalasa on 12th March night and reached Mullodi village on 13th morning. Its 310kms away from Bangalore. From there we took a jeep till our homestay- Arun homestay approximately 12kms.

After having a delicious breakfast we headed for a short trek to Baamikonda hill. Trek distance was 4km both ways. The trek is a steep trek and is an easy to moderate trek.

The views from the hills are mesmerising. The views are of Kudremukh national park on one side and of the village frm the other side. On the way you will witness small patches of forests and water streams through which you can fill your bottles. After reaching the peak we sat there for an hour and were just enjoying the views.

After the trek we came back to our homestay and had lunch. Rested for sometime and left for Somwathi waterfalls. It is a seclued waterfall and we could enjoy our own privacy there by just spending time with nature. We left from the falls for our homestay after doing some photography and videography. Falls was hardly 300mtrs away frm the homestay.

In the evening, Arun anna had arranged bonfire for us. We sat there had our dinner and to our surprise we witnessed so many stars in the sky. We just laid down in our tents and were continuosly looking at the sky. Later we just dozed off.

Day 2

Good morning people today is the big day to start the trek to Kudremukh peak. It was 8am on a Sunday morning (14th March) we started for the trek after having breakfast and packing our lunch.

Kudremukh trek is around 18km both side and is a moderate to difficult trek. It goes through Kudremukh National park. The park is famous for a lot of birds and animals. During the trek you will find mesmerising views of the huge mountains and plenty of waterstreams on the way to refresh yourself or to quench your thirst.

It goes through dense forest. The last trail of the trek is the most difficult one as it is the steepest and zig zagged. So you need to go slow and steady.

Unfortunately we couldn't complete the trek due to time constraints. We reached close to the peak at around 2.30pm and to complete it we would have required atleast half and hour more. As it is a national park and we had to reach our entry point before 6 pm we decided to head back post lunch.

Getting down is also challenging as the steepness can make u slip. So go slow.

It almost took 5hours to go up and 3.5hours to get down.

The trails were amazingly beautiful.

Once we reached our homestay we had our dinner and our homestay host had arranged for a jeep to take us till bus stand. We took our bus to Bangalore and reached next morning.

This is how our memorable trip ended.
