1. Pangong Lake

In winters, it is majestic to be here. The lake is frozen, the snow blankets the hills, the sky is azure, wherever you look there’s just heaps of white and so much silence.

The summers are pleasant. The reflection of the sky and hills create such an ambience, you would love to sit by the lake or just stroll around. The Brahminy ducks in water play cupid with the towering mountains in the background.

Must do: Enjoy watching the lake water change its colour from blue to green as you sip on hot tea. Have a bonfire night! Indulge in a candlelight dinner under thousands of stars! (Recommended to those visiting in summers ;)

2. Nubra Valley

Celebrate love in this beautiful valley of deserts and flowers, surrounded by mountains that keep changing their colour throughout the day. The journey to this valley is fascinating as it leads through the world’s highest motorable road – Khardung La.

Must do: Safari on a yak or the double-humped camel. Take blessings at the Diskit Monastery.

Let the cool breeze do the talking as you drive your way through the winding roads. Once here, enjoy a moment at being on the world’s highest road. The colourful Tibetan prayer flags fluttering around are a great reminder to us – to spread love and compassion.

Must do: Have a romantic Paragliding experience.

4. Tso Moriri Lake

This lake offers you such calm, serene moments to get to know each other. Tucked away from the crowd, this lake is home to many migratory birds. It surely adds on to the beauty of this place. Enjoy a lovely evening here together.

Must Do: Visit the Korzok Monastery, explore the boiling-hot spring at Chumathang or enjoy a little wilderness on a wildlife excursion. You might spot a snow leopard!

5. Shanti Stupa

After a few days of knowing each other and all those conversations, time for some shanti. You can drive to this dome of peace or climb 500 steps. Built on the top of a hill, it offers a captivating view of Leh. Experience the sunrise or sunset here. Sit in silence at the footsteps of the Stupa or just be in each other’s presence walking hand in hand.

Must do: Camp overnight. The full moon nights are the best.

6. Zanskar Valley

Bed of flowers, pristine mountains and the wild breeze, everything about the Zanskar Valley is magical and mysterious. It is a nature lover’s delight – deep gorges, glaciers, open wide valleys to ice rivers, you can revel in its beauty forever. Spread over 5000 sq.km., this valley offers a lot of adventure, too. Add a little adventure to your honeymoon with trekking, rafting or kayaking.

Must do: Have a starry night dinner while you camp. Also, visit the Stongdey Monastery and the Zangla castle.

7. Magnetic Hill

This place is also known as the gravity hill. Switch off your vehicle’s engine and experience your vehicle being pulled up. Amazing phenomena! This place offers a perfect opportunity to click pictures too.

Also, you can visit the Patthar Sahib Gurudwara nearby. Enjoy the langar and find out what the local legend has to say about this place.

8. Leh Market

In the last leg of your honeymoon, time to surprise your wife with something she loves to do – shopping!

Where else will you find authentic local artisan work! There’s so much to choose from – pashmina shawls to artifacts to ornaments, you’ll find different kinds of in the various bazaars of Leh.

Must buy: Pashmina garments, Tibetan ornaments & handicrafts, carpets and rugs.
