Day 1

Lepakshi is place on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. It's around 120 Kms. or 2 to 3 hours drive from Bangalore (Bengaluru) based on your mode of transportation. We boarded KSRTC local bus at 9 AM from Hebbal and reached Hindupur at 12:15 PM (Approximately 3-3.5 hrs). Bus ride was less lethargic, as you don't drive. Time passed easily as I had good company. Bus took route behind Nandi Hills by Bangalore - Hindupur Highway. It's a rural highway with villages, train stations, mountains. During the journey we could see train travelling parallel to us for sometime (If you are train person, it's also an option). Although it's highway but road was narrow, highway broadening work was going on in patches. After reaching Hindupur, we hired an auto to Lepakshi. It took us around 25 minutes to reach the temple. The temple and Nandi are visiting areas and pictures speak for themselves. We were back to Hebbal by 6 in evening by local transport.
