What is the first thing that comes to your mind where you hear about lonavala?

Chikki? Beautiful hills? Aati kya Khandala? Caves?

Well, lonavala is a mixture of all 4 of these. An hill-station in the Pune district of Maharashtra provides a perfect weekend getaway. Most of us know that lonavala is absoultely picturesque during the monsoon, but what about winters? Here is the list things to do in Lonavala and khandala during the winter season.

1)"Staying Down to earth and viewing the nature from top of the LOHGAD FORT"

--Lohgad fort is something you wouldn't want to miss. Lohgad, which is at 3,390ft above the sea level is absolutely magnificent. The wind at the top will leave you in splits. With the flag waving high, you will feel you are on cloud nine(in literal sense). So if lonavala is in your bucket list, lohgad better be on top of the bucket.

2)The king of the jungle in the form of rocks: LION'S POINT.

--One of the most beautiful spots in lonavala, what's more beautiful is the drive to the point. At the apex, the view is breathtaking. You will find horse, camel and some other rides at the top.

3)The Celebrity Den which will confuse you who in the room is real and who is a statue: SUNIL'S CELEBRITY WAX MUSEUM.

--At rs.200 entry fee inside the museum, the wax statues here are quite amazing. There are close to 85 statues of reputed celebrities from different fields.

4)"Monkey see, Monkey Do" At the MONKEY POINT.

--You will find this point right when you enter lonavala. You should ideally visit this point in the evening and witness the mischievous yet fun monkey activities and have some hot corn right there.

5)The Delicious "RAMAKRISHNA HOTEL" and the Maharashtrain cuisine at MAMMA'S HOMELY FOOD"

--These two hotels are worth visiting. The ramakrishna hotel's dosa was another level. The Mamma's homely food veg thali, for rs. 200, had the perfect spice of a maharashtrain thali.

6)Explore the cave as it was in BHAJA CAVES

--For an entry fee of rs.15, you can witness some ancient architectural beauty.

7)Head to khandala at SUNSET POINT

--What i learned at this point is the time management of the sun. The sunset was due at 6:03 pm, and it was preety accurate. With evening snacks, let your eyes lapse the sun to set.

8)Even if you try not to, you will end up buying MAGANLAL'S CHIKKI

--Quiet true. With so many maganlal shops and banners, it would be difficult not to buy one.

Note-There are few other places like the pawna lake, bhushi dam, della adventure which you might wanna consider.

"If you have two options, 'just sit back' or 'backpack', opt for second one and set your priorities. So it's upto you to decide,

One day, you will start travelling,

Or

Its day one, you gotta start travelling.
