2020 was supposed to be the year full of trips but it took a very unexpected turn. After a few months of staying at home with restrictions, we finally went on the very first trip post lockdown. Imagine the happiness a person following a strict diet gets on the cheat day when he gets to eat that pizza without any guilt, that was how happy I was, or maybe 10% of how truly happy I was! We didn't want to go too far though, we decided that we would go to Mount Abu, Rajasthan. We had been there quite a few times before but hadn't really explored much, it used to be more of a religious trip, visit the Nakki lake and go eat pizza at Dominos. But this time we had this different level of excitement and we were like we want to see everything we possibly can in this short visit. We first visited Gaumukh which is quite a famous place, especially if you do not mind 700 steps, we had a new experience out there which might be a whole different story but just to give a gist of it - We might have come accross a bear and the place was all secluded, what a run!

Malvika (@pic_a_booo_) suggested me about Rameshwaram Temple. She told me it was her favourite place of Mt Abu and that most of the people are unaware about this place. I first asked the hotel staff about it but their answer was "Ha, lekin Tamil Nadu toh dur hai yaha se" (Tamin Nadu is very far from here) I started searching about the place on Google but for the first time ever Google started acting the way I usually am while writing Marathi paper - Blank. After doing a lot of digging I finally found a video on YouTube and my reaction was I HAVE TO GO THERE! After forwarding the video to Malvika and getting instructions on how to go, my parents and I were all set to go on another experience after the run from the bhalu (bearat Gaumukh.

Rameshwaram Temple is on the way to Gurushikar, very near to peace park. You've to take the left turn from the peace park. There was this tapriwala over there, we asked him about the temple his reaction was "waha kyu jana hai, it is just a small temple and nothing" he was quite surprised. Anyway, we took the left turn and were again at a place that was secluded. The weather was beautiful, if you like rains - Super cloudy and windy. We walked for a bit until we reached a gate and there was a board that said "The area ahead is a private property" I called Malvika and she told us to go through that property. We were skeptical about it and decided to return back cause there was no one else, it was a private property, it looked like it might start raining heavily any moment and mainly cause WHAT IF THERE ARE BEARS HERE!?

Pun time - Why do bears have hairy coats? Fur protection.

We were halfway back and met a local family who was going to Rameshwaram temple for a family picnic. They told us that the property isn't a private property now and we can go there. However the board has still not been removed cause of which most of the people are unaware about it (hope this is true) We followed them and finally reached the place which became my favourite spot of Mt Abu

It was a very small temple (weren't allowed to go inside) at the end of a small river in midst of a lot of greenery. I was expecting a temple at the bottom of a waterfall, cause the video I saw was taken that way but there wasn't any waterfall! It is a picnic spot for locals over there. A beautiful, peaceful place the middle of a touristy destination!
