If you ask me which is my favourite resort in India, I'd always say THE SERAI! Yes, it is the most beautiful resort I have ever been to. A little info about the resort: the Serai is owned by The Coffee Day group.
The resort is amidst the thick forest of Bandipur where we can often see wild animals on the other side of the fence surrounding the property. The stay in Serai, Bandipur, feels like an adventure because you can hear animals so close to your rooms and if you have any luck they might even cross the electric fence and come say hi to you! ha-ha.
The resort is simple and enchanting as it offers the luxury we crave for and the amenities are just perfect! The resort package is inclusive of all the meals and accommodation. They serve all cuisines. Italian was my favourite! There are three types of rooms available according to the package that you choose. Since I was staying there for two days I decided to stay in two different rooms to feel like a princess!
The prices of the resort is on a very high side and they charge extra if you wish to go for any activities that they offer. They have nature walk, bird watching, safari in the morning and evening. To do any of the above you need to be prepared to spend a bomb. Instead, I would suggest you guys to directly go to the safari run by government which will be easy on your pockets.
Evenings in Serai:
The evenings in Serai is just magical. If one is planning to take your beloved one for a date, then this is your place! Luxury, the fairy light dinner, the enchanting pool, cold and breezy, perfect for a romantic night!
Staff and Service:
The staff there is the nicest! I really like how the staff makes you feel so comfortable and the sophisticated dinner that is server will make you feel like you are the Queen of Persia! The food is served as buffet in the morning, noon, and dinner is followed by a la carte where you can order anything or everything in the menu.
The restaurant:
The sitting area of the restaurant is amazing with the view. Every single penny you paid for will actually make you feel it's worth it! The food tastes explicitly great. And the variety of food they offer you for every single meal during your stay is brilliant as you literally have everything from English breakfast to Chettinad biryani.
The rooms:
The rooms were very luxurious and super fancy. There will be lot of complimentary snacks from Cafe Coffee day; their cookies to chocolates and obviously coffee powder and all that. The bathroom was so huge some 5 people could take a shower together. And the room essentials like bath soap, shampoo, and oil were all from the brand FOREST ESSENTIAL!! I felt like Cleopatra already.
The Spa:
The spa offers all sorts of body treatment and skin care. Please note: spa charges are not included in the package unless you take some huge ass wellness package. I felt the prices were over rated and just got a simple body massage and left for the day. It was very relaxing and it helped me reduce the body pain I had due to the journey.
Overall Rating:
The rating has to be 9/10 as the prices were on the higher side for everything. The food, stay, service, cleanliness, staff, safari; everything was totally worth it. I strongly recommend people to visit here at least once. Trust me, because sometimes luxury is the best-est feeling in the world, especially when you are being treated like a princess. So, why not?
