The whole idea of this trip was to get out from the bustling life of mumbai and get some oxygen.Western Ghats as we all know is beautiful in its own way not comparing with the snow clad himalayas.Late night we booked an XUV500 which was just perfect enough for the seven of us to fit in- all though the luggages were hanging here and there due to the lack of boot space but i wont complain- the reason being this is the first time in my life i was driving an suv so i was very happy and off to Mahabaleswar. There are two routes that one can take 1)the usual national highway that connects pune 2) the adventurous one or the state highway which runs through the mountains with hairpin bends and turns. We chose the second option to spice up things a little and it was amazing. The toal round trip was about 570kms and it was wonderful .
