Bardenas Reales Park, Navarre

The Bardenas Reales Park has odd rock formations which make it a stunning, deserted location. This is clearly one of the most hauntingly amazing filming locations for this show. The location in Navarre appears for the first time in Season 6. This is where Khaleesi, Daenerys Targaryen, meets Khalassar. The rock formations of this location made it an ideal place for filming this season of the show. You will find these formations at this location if you happen to go a trip there.

Belvedere Atrium

This is a section of the non-fantasy-looking Belvedere Hotel that is situated in Dubrovnik. The hotel was destroyed during the Croatian Independence war in 1991. In the show, this is the place where the trial of Tyrion Lannister for King Joffery’s murder culminated in a fierce fight between Gregor, The Mountain, and Oberyn Martel. You will find this hotel at this location.

Vaes Dothrak

Vaes Dothrak is the only Dothraki City that gets some epic from Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland that looms in the background. These mountains made this location ideal for this show. The Vaes Dothrak scenes in Season one were filmed at a place called Sandy Brae. A trip to this location will give you a clear view of the Mourne Mountains.

Belfast and Dublin

Belfast and Dublin were the filming locations for Winterfell in the Game of Thrones. Among the major locations that are featured in this show include the Castle Ward Estate. This is where the stableyard and castle form the seat of House of Stark in Winterfell. The Riverlands camp in Robb Stark and one of the towers which make up the castle of the Walder Frey or the Twins are close to this location. These made this location ideal for this show and you can find them during your trip to this location.

Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is the real-life location for King’s Landing in this show. This location makes a Game of Thrones tour in Dubrovnik extremely popular. Here, you will see where the exterior shots of this film from season two to five were taken. The walls of this city form the backdrop of the show during the Battle of the Blackwater. This is where the forces of King Joffrey square off against the forces of Stannis Baratheon. The Lokrum Island also acts as the location for the unforgettable confrontation between Petyr Baelish and Cersei in season two, Power is Power. This location is also where Qarth City’s shooting took place.
