Day 1

Malana is a place where locals are not allowed to touch the outsiders. Weather you take bottle of water or a food to eat, they will keep things in the floor and they you can take it from the floor itself. Malana is good in summer season as well as in winters because of the mountains coverd village from all side. Nearby place is waichin valley,it's located in the upper part of the malana valley. You need to take a walk from the marijuana planted mountains all over. I wonder how all over the mountain it grows!! The malana cream is famous in this hilly region part. The local also make food oil and shoes and clothes from the marijuana stemps. Travellers travelling to malana please note : Do not carry alcohol because if caught they will charge you a penalty of 10,000 as if for new rules thru local panchayat. As well do not touch anything which belongs to the village like local temple, houses,or a person. The place while was wandering i was at the the last house where it was just constructed and had a small chai shop. I stopped there and asked for a stay at some hotel. He suggest that property which was newly constructed and gave me a price for 250 for night stay. I agreed and kept my baggage and took a walk towards the village . I just see marijuana plants all over it growing and growing . I can smell it while crossing the streets. There are also a shops you can get shampoo, soaps and things to eat. Also you have a cafes nearby . I did not go but i saw some new cafe which was open. This season i chose because i can see the clouds moving and covering mountains with my naked eyes.

I came down to my room and walk outside and sat there. I looked my left and right. It's just tress, plants, very less humans walking around and very silent place. It's the best evening i could have spent in my earlier trips. I orderd myself a mutton curry because it was 8 degree and i wish to have non veg . I asked for chicken but they said they dont have chicken shop available as they dont cut chicken . They only sell mutton . So i asked the owner to get mutton . The owner was really friendly and he himself made food  and asked me to join with him . He was really a nice soul living in himalayas. After dinner we had some fire up session and we all sat together had a great time knowing each other and telling other travellers story . I could not even forget Malana village and the people ever. Because they are really sweet and really gesture with love!

I promise today as i will turn 50s i will surely have my house in himalayas and stay there or will surely walk up in himalayas with my husband and kids. Mountains is my first love as i am 24 hours ready to walk in himalayas.

Talking about the cost ,from kasol you get a cab around 1200 one way to malana . Also you can share and go . I hitch hiked from the tempo and paid him 100 rs and some choclates that i was carrying with me . Total trip to malana from kasol woukd be 1200 and depend on staying as guest house and home stay range starts with 200 to 3500  .

Have a really great time travellers and keep wandering to new places and know their culture ,trust me it's really fun
