Prologue:

It was month of April, 2019. We had our bags packed for travelling on next week. On 21st April morning there was breaking news all over TV about terror attack in SriLanka, just 5 days before our travel. It was the first time we booked everything through travel agency. We were very worried how we’ll travel in this situation. Within 24 hrs. of the attack the airline announced free cancellation for those who were travelling within 5 days after the attack. So, we got our full refund from the airline. But our travel agency was not refunding any amount but they offered us to change our destination. So, we changed our destination to Malaysia.

Malaysia

We took one-month time to get ready for Malaysia as we need to check and book flight tickets again. We decided to travel from 5th June to 10th June. After booking flight ticket we applied for Malaysia visa.

To apply Malaysian Visa, you need to create a profile in their official site.

Document required for Malaysia visa:

1. Proper sized photograph. (Mentioned in the Visa Website)

2. Scanned copy of front and back of passport.

3. 2-way Air Tickets copy.

4. Hotel booking copy.

5. For new passport bank statement and for old passport previous traveling visa copy.

There is a $25 charge of processing fees and Rs. 1100 for e-visa fees.

We got our visa after 24 hrs. of applying. Mostly it will take 2-3 working days.

Our trip was for 5 days and 4 nights. Here is our Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival on Kuala Lampur to Gentings High Land.

Day 2: Genting Highland to Kuala Lumpur.

Day 3: Day trip to Sunway Lagoon water park.

Day 4: Visit to Thean Hou Temple, Petronas twin tower

Day 5: Travel to Putrajaya and return to Airport.

Day 1

We reached Kuala Lampur 6:30 in the morning. After arrival we directly went to Genting Highland. It’s about 3 hrs. journey from Airport. Genting Highland is a private property and hill station. The temperature there was below from the city temperature. There was a cable ride from First World hotel to Genting Highland. On the way there is beautiful Chinese temple. The day we arrived there it was raining and cloudy. All the places were covered by mist. The bad thing was we didn’t get good pictures because of the mist.

We stayed at Grand Ion Delemen Hotel, which is 20 mins far from the main attraction. There were free shared cabs provided by the hotel but you need to inform before. Most of the tourist stays near to Genting highland, for them all the places are easily accessible. Genting highland is mainly a big shopping mall with casino.

Day 2

Next day morning after having a very good breakfast at Grand Ion Delemen we left for the city tour. On the way we visited Batu Cave. Opposite to the batu cave there is a shopping mall for watch and jewelry called Geneva.

After the we went to King’s Palace, Independence Square, National Monuments, Petronas Twin Tower and Beryl’s Chocolate Factory.

Day 6

Note 1: For this 5days 4nights trip we took total RM800. We had our hotels, dinner and transfer previously booked. SIM cards are easily available in the city in very cheap rate. Currency exchange is also available in the shopping malls. We converted RM200 from Genting @19, which is cheaper than the rate offered in Bangalore airport @21. Water bottles are cheaper in the Shopping Marts. For travelling within the city Install Grab App, no need to book taxi from hotels at higher rate. Grab is easily available through out Kuala Lumpur.

Note 2: As we already paid to our travel agency and we had to re schedule every thing so we didn't travel to Langkawi. You can add 2 more days with this Itinerary and can easily cover Langkawi.
