Maldives - A picture itinerary

Tripoto

We went here as a birthday getaway but this place has stuck in our minds ever since. One can go here for about a minimum of five days and the flight connectivity to Male is pretty good. We flew from Dubai via flyDubai. The visa process is very simple even for Indians. Only the passport needs to be stamped at entry.

Most hotels provide a pick up / drop off to the airport and this can be done by speed boats or even helicopters. The views are unbelievable and the blues are unreal. The water is so clean, even the floor of the ocean can be spotted.

One doesn't have to go here with a fixed itinerary. The activities provided by most resorts are mostly the same. Just beware as the prices for everything is too high considering everything has to be brought in from the capital city to the resorts. One of the days can be spent visiting Male for a city tour.

Scuba diving and snorkelling are a must - it's the best place to do it. There are some cruises for dolphin watching as well though there's no guarantee that the dolphins will appear.

Sharks and dolphins aside, just the bluish green water and the perfect sunsets are enough to get one packing for Maldives !
