WBeing a long weekend off and our first anniversary we decided to explore the lakes of udaipur and the blue city ..

Day 1- We reached early around 7 am from delhi to udaipur ..took a cab to our hotel Shree villas located in the main old Udaipur and our hotel had a view of lake Pichola ..The hotel was located deep in the main city except auto-rickshaw and two wheeler you can't reach there.

Rested for a while we took off to main city temple Jagdish Temple which was crowded with devotees and visitors .32 marble steps lead to main shrine which was beautiful. Then we decided to have street breakfast and ate pooha with sev namkeen and fresh kachori which was mouth watering.

In evening we took an activa for rent @300/day and visited Sajjangarh fort which was around 30 minutes drive from the main city .Well our internet services were switch off due to Ayodhya Mandir verdict so my old habit of downloading the map of the city i am visiting came out to be handy as it guided me to the fort.Sajjangarh fort is nice palace not so huge built by Maharaja Sajjan Singh ji probably for summer retreat as is located at top of small hill. From this fort one can see the beautiful sunset and entire Udaipur city .On our way back from sajjangarh fort we visited the Fategarh sagar lake parked our activa by the lake side and saw the sun setting down .

Day 2

Day 2- If you have a hotel/resort with beautiful view you often wake up early, so did we and did meditation by the lake side and was so soothing we were fresh to explore more today . It was our first anniversary and my birthday too but without internet no connection to social media made us feel incomplete, yeah but we were happy as our eyes and mind was appreciating this beautiful colorful city rather than posting for insta stories. We on day 2 visited to city palace on our activa .City Palace is located in east side of lake Pichola from where you can see whole lake Jag Mandir, monsoon palace hotel Taj .City palace is like a fort whose construction was started by Maharaja Udai Singh ji and followed by his successor . 1.5 to 2 hours is required to complete the tour of this palace .Here you can see beautiful architecture , glass work ,how rich and royal life a Maharaja have can be easily seen .At exit point there is photo exhibition of palace which I think should be in the starting of the trip as you can get a whole idea.

After this we search for a restaurant serving the traditional thali and a local person suggested Nataraj Restaurant .It was crowded and we have to wait for 15- 20 minutes for our turn but it was worth . Cost of a Thali is around 240 Rupees and you get whole lot of variety to eat .Well the photo of thali can surely bring you to Udaipur.

Well in the evening we booked a cab for jaisamand island resort to celebrate our first anniversary . Resort is around 2 hours drive from main Udaipur City. Resort is situated in the middle of the Dhebar Lake second largest artificial lake in India and was built by Maharaja Jai Singh. On arriving the resort we asked the manager to arrange a romantic dinner for our anniversary and Mr. Prakash was assigned the duty he set a wonderful candle dinner for us.
