Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Rose Valley –Dades gorges
We start from Marrakech before 8:00, in order to drive to Ouarzazate, a former caravan town on the silk and salt route in the eastern foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Ouarzazate is known as the Gateway to the Sahara passing through the berber town of Taddert and over the 2260 meters high Tizi-in-Tichka pass. We will stop at the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. The kasbah is one of the most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient road of the Kasbahs, and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Lunch by the Kasbah and continue on our way to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate. “the Hollywood of Africa”. On, through the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs”- the fascinating “sand castles”.we will continue in our journey to stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose’s city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May, and then continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dades gorge, enjoy a traditional Moroccan evening meal and breakfast.
Day 2: Boumalne Dadès - Tinghir - Todra Gorge - Arfoud - Merzouga Dunes
The next day after breakfast our trip leads us through the Dades Valley and Todra Gorge, allowing to explore the sights of this region. Lunch can be taken at any café on our way. Arrival to Merzouga is the final destination of today, where we meet our camels to take us to the Dunes of Erg Chebbi to our Berber desert camp. Our stay at the desert camp includes accommodation in traditional Berber tents, evening meal and breakfast the following morning.
Day 3: Merzouga -Rissani - Ziz Valley – Midelt -Azrou - Ifrane - Fes
We’ll wake up early morning to watch the sunrise and then we ride the camels back to Merzouga, after taking shower and breakfast we’ll start our Sahara tour backing to Fes. We’ll stop on the road to enjoy the landscape and to take pictures before we passing through the Middle Atlas mountains again.
We stop by a village called Midelt where we’ll have lunch. This town is a very impressive mountain city at 1488 meters of altitude, well situated lower down the mountain ” The Jbel Ayachi (3737 m)”.
In the afternoon we’ll continue to the legendary city of Fes. Arrival to Fes which is the end of the 3 days Marrakech to Fes desert tour.
