Matheran is a hill station and a municipal council in the Raigad district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a hill station in Karjat Tahsil and is also the smallest hill station in India. It is located on the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 800 m (2,625 feet) above sea level. It is located around 90 km from Mumbai.

Matheran is a beautiful place for those who loves nature or Jungle walk.I decided to go matheran on my last weekend but this time my visit in Matheran was somthing special because it was my favorite solo trip. To reach Matheran, i took local from thane station for Neral station and then switched into a cab , which cost for 70 rupees for a per person. From Neral Station to Matheran It was a awesome 30 min journey via cab through some valleys. after reaching to the point , i had to start to walk towards matheran which was some 3-4 Km walk from the venue. To reach Matheran ,there is walk from toy train track through jungles and some beautiful points . Generally during monsoon , toy train in Matheran is out of working, but i would suggest to reach Matheran via walk. After reaching Matheran , Having meggi at 2600 ft is a awesome feeling. There are so many Points you can visit like rambag , Monkey point , Lonavala Point, but for reaching these points follow the paths through dense jungle. You can have teas and corns at every points and yeah obviously paths are full of fog, so dont stop when you will cross it you definitely reach on awesome places . Keep travelling . :)
