Trip Cost: Rs. 16000 per person (excluding flights)
Meeting point: Guwahati Airport

TRIP OVERVIEW

A 3 hrs drive through the NH40 will take us to Shillong. This charming hill station would be our base for the first two nights as we’ll explore around. We’ll try boating in the crystal clear water of Umiam Lake, pose on the pretty bridge over Wards Lake, get a bird’s eye view of Shillong from Shillong peak and walk down to the 3rd tier of Elephant falls.

On the 3rd day, we’ll head for Cherrapunji, known as the wettest place in the world until Mawsynram took over. From there, we’ll trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridges, through quaint villages, crystal clear pools and deep dense tropical forest.

We’ll go caving, as Meghalaya has some of the deepest and longest cave formations in the world. We’ll see the Nohkalikai Falls, the highest plunge waterfall in India and possibly try to trek down to its base. And we’ll also visit Mawlynnong – the ‘cleanest village in Asia’.

The entire place would make you feel as if you have reached an elven land in the Middle Earth. Alas! Peter Jackson never knew that…

Included in price:
1. All road transfers during the trip.
2. Accommodation in Shillong and Cherrapunji.
3. Daily breakfasts.
4. Trek to Living Root Bridges.
