The MIA (The Museum of Islamic Art) Qatar
Located at the Corniche Road, Doha Qatar. The museum building is barely noticeable when passing by on this waterfront road of the city. To be honest, I have been living in Doha for almost 2.5 years but it was my first time to get inside. We usually roam around the facade or at the back (MIA Park- another fantastic part of the city) only.
We spent (QAR 30 * US$8) for the taxi fare - return trip (since we don't have a car) and it is FREE to get inside the museum. How cool is that?
Upon entering, there'd be security check and few steps- a grand interior of the building will amaze you. On the first floor are the tourist help desk, gift shop, café, gallery hall (NO PHOTOS allowed inside) and a grand staircase leading to the next levels of the museum where you can find a wide range of world class collections of exhibits.
I've been to museums before, yet now this would be the top one on my list. The exhibits were perfectly lighted inside the glass that when you looked at it from a distant or close you wouldn't think there is a glass protecting.
The highest floor of the building has a library with wide range selection of books very helpful to all.

The museum houses a collection of works gathered since the late 1980s, including manuscripts, textiles and ceramics. It is one of the world’s most complete collections of Islamic artifacts, with items originating in Spain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, India, and Central Asia."
The back part of the museum is perfect for families especially on Fridays. Park ground, cafe, water activities, outdoor activities can be shared overlooking the sea and city skyline.
