There is a direct bus from the Majestic Bus Station to Coorg. We boarded the SeaBird Travels and it was really a great experience.
This was a beautiful cottage owned by a middle aged man named Ganesh and he stayed in the same premises with his wife and a daughter. He charged us Rs.3000 for 2 days and also offered home made tea with KrackJack and a blissful breakfast consisting of Neer Dosa, Sambhar and Chatni prepared by his wife. Full of flowers and a perfect terrace which could capture the Madikeri's true beauty, this Home Stay was the best decision made.
First of all, I would like to tell how to reach there. Just move your asses to Madikeri Private Bus Stand and you will find numerous number of buses going to that place, only thing you have to do is to "ASK". Price: 35 Rs. Per Person Now, once you reach the stop, I request you to do have a meal at "Santosh Restaurant". It offers a complete authentic South Indian Meal in just Rs. 55 per plate and an unlimited serve of food. And, a plus point is "God Like Service". Okay, Once your tummy is full with the meal, just stroll across the road and you will find a temple around that place and that is the famous Bagamandala Temple. Warning: Don't wear Sleeveless or Shorts less better be prepared to have a window visit from outside, THE VERANDAHA. :P A beautiful wooden architectural temple with many stories embedded in its whiskers.
Just outside the Bagamandala Temple you will find a lot of Autos, which will take you to the 8KM travel tourism to Talacauvery Temple. A place from where River Cavuery originates and a temple is made at that place. Cost of Auto: 200 Rs to and fro ( From Bagamandala to Talacauvery) Along with a magnanimous temple, you will also experience marvelous weather and view points from that temple. Worth Visiting place.
From Bagamandala just take a bus to return to Madikeri and in between just again "ASK" the driver to drop you near Raja Seat Garden. A beautiful garden with an entry fee of Rs. 5 per Adult, you will find a fantastic view point, a toy train ride, musical fountain and a place to chillax on green grass along side a small temple. After getting drenched in the "Lean On" music in Raja's Seat, I urge you to take a "Bhelpuri" from outside and have a calm and serene walk till Omkareshwara Temple, just 20 minutes walking from the place.
This is a Buddhist Monastery. How to go: Take a bus from KSRTC Bus Station, just the lane down from the Private Bus Station. From the stop take an auto.
