Day 1
Mirjan Fort is located in the North of Kannada about half kilometres aways from NH 66 and approximately 11kms away from Gokarna. You can surely include this as part of your Gokarna or Kumta trip.
The Fort is spread over 4.5 hecters of area and was built in 16th century and was refurbished in 17th century. This Fort was ruled by Queen Chennabhairadevi also known as pepper Queen of India for about 54 years.
How to reach the Fort:
One can take the bus which ply between Karwar/Gokarna to kumta and get down at Mirjan which is on NH and walk for half a km to reach the fort
If you are driving your own vehicle exit NH 66 at Mirjan village
