I took a three days trip to Maya Nagari Mumbai exclusively to meet my mumbaikar friends and to explore the city as well. It was my very first experience of Mumbai. Although I am writing a very cliche type of blog over the hot debate topic Delhi v/s Mumbai. But it's written by a small town girl who is living in Delhi for the last 5 years I mean neither a delhiite nor a Mumbaikar, so i will do justice to the topic.

Local Trains v/s Metro-

Delhi has vast Metro network connecting Capital City to nearby states Haryana & UP whereas Mumbai has local trains. Mumbai is way more crowded than Delhi, obviously cause that's our economic capital. But the crowd is sophisticated, simple and decent. What I see is they do not litter or make any chaos either in local trains or on roads.

Colonialism- When you are in Delhi you will amazed to see various monumental places, which were built mostly by Mughals viz. Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, Humayou's Tomb etc. I am from Rajasthan thus I have not seen any Gothic architecture or British influence on buildings in my state. So the very first thing I noticed in Mumbai was its architecture whether it is Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus aka Victoria Terminus or Mount Mary's Basilica. Thanks to the national renovation team (Archaeological Survey of India) even 150 years old building does not seem decrepit. South Mumbai area (to name a few are Colaba, Cuffe Parade and Fort area) are just jaw dropping if you are connoisseur of British Architecture.

FOOD- Delhi has Chhole Bhature & Chhole Kulche and Mumbai has Bhaji Pav, Vada Pav and every other thing that can fit inside the great Pav. Other than that, Mumbaikars have road side chaat stalls as well, I mean Sev Puri, Pani Puri, Dahi Puri. Street Food is good, cheap and available in night time also. Both cities have one similarity that no one can sleep hungry.

Tourist places- Delhi had been Invaders favorite choice besides its Mughal and Rajputana history so it has a plethora of historical places to visit. However Mumbai has its trump card i.e. Arabian Sea so it has beaches such as Queen's Necklace Marine drive, Juhu beach, Versova beach and many more. Most famous temples (which I have seen in many hindi daily soaps) Sidhhivinayak temple and Mahalaxmi temple are Religious Garnishing of our tour this fast moving city Mumbai to visit. There is a very famous Dargah also situated at Haji Ali. Other places are Elephanta caves (situated on an island in Arabian Sea), Hanging Garden, Flora Fountain, and a list of beaches some of which i already mentioned and Jahangir Art Gallery is surely not to be missed, specially if you are interested in art and paintings. So Mumbai definitely has many tourist hotspots to offer.

Fashion- Delhi people are very fashionable and influenced heavily by western culture. What i have observed about people in Delhi is that they spend a big budget on their lifestyle (yes i feel Delhiites are a bit show off when comes to dressing) whereas comparatively Mumbaikars love to live simply.

Weather- I went Mumbai in December which is supposed to be cold everywhere (or atleast my Rajasthani soul was screaming so). Delhi was freezing when I hit to Mumbai, whoaa it was really hot and humid and save your laughter cause that was cold according to mumbaikars.

In the last of this journey one can never compare these beautiful cities, both are just magical. And like these different cities, our country India is made up of diversities, still united.
