"What is life but one Grand Adventure "- unknown

There is always a first time for everything. Very rightly said and in my case, there have been many first times... REASON because I am exhaustively curious …

This post will cover my food journey through Phuket & Koh Samui the places I have visited and the resorts I have stayed at.

DESTINATIONS:- PHUKET & KOH SAMUI

My First, my first group travel, my first tryst with Songkran (the Thai celebration of the New Year), My first taste of Sushi and the subsequent love for the Japanese cuisine, my first Thai concert at the Phuket Bike Week, my first snorkel and spotting of the Black Tip Shark , my first understanding of the simplicity behind the basic crepe and the love for it, my first taste of Australian cuisine, my first 2.00am massage by a transgender masseuse, my first and only attachment to the tamed iguanas on the beach and the spider monkey.

“Yes I am a DREAMER... for a dreamer is one who can find his way by moonlight, and see the dawn before the rest of the world – Oscar Wilde.”

I have always cherished my days under the sun.. and Thailand was no different. I traveled in 2014 but the memories are still fresh in my mind.

Destination - Phuket

Where? Phuket. Situated in the Andaman Sea a rainforested island has the best beaches in Thailand and also in my experience the best friendly local people I have come across.

What? Traveling tumtums with blaring funky music was the highlight of my stay in Phuket.

Stay? Kamala Beach Resort gave me some serious luxury goals. Their resort description is on point “A place where life is calmer, where every day is a break from everyday life and where a time for once is on your side. Children probably think that this is a totally boring place. Adults traveling without children describe this as simply wonderful.”

A great place to stay with family, friends and also a great place for couples. If you are looking for “value for money” this place will give you some great sleep after the best massages you can have at the numerous spa houses outside the resort.

NOW ABOUT WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT MISS IN PHUKET !!

Songkran:- A beautiful Thai celebration of the New Year, Songkran – for some, it is the period of reflection but for most, it is a time to get happy and hit the streets with tons of water and throw it on anything that moves ( similar to Holi in India). Not a time to wear good clothes and travel on two-wheelers because for the next 3 days you will get WET WET WET!!

Precautions to be taken: - Wear waterproof clothing and also carry waterproof equipment and do not wear great clothes.

Phuket Bike Week: - If you are a diehard fan of motorcycles and even you are not! This is one bike fest you should promise yourself not to miss... The look of those beautiful machines and the rumbling of those Ducati’s, Harleys and BMW mean machines will definitely change your heart.

A few snippet shots from this awesome Fest:-

PS:- Girls the pure leather shopping here is the classiest I have seen make sure you get some souvenir’s

Destination - Koh Samui

Where? Koh Samui – The only thing I can say about Koh Samui is LUXURY, PEACE, BEAUTY, and SPAS all of which can be experienced in just a blink of your eye.

What? 24/7 spas and incredible sushi - I can only confess I was an absolute novice to Sushi when I visited Thailand and oh I am so glad I was .. My love for sushi has begun only after bingeing on the freshest Sushi and then heading for the best massage binges I have had as late as 2.00 am also.

Fried everything !! & some Australian chicken curry

Stay? – Chaweng Beach Resort A beachfront resort with a view of the crystal clear waters and of course the infamous Ark Bar attached at the hip .. With music blaring till the wee hours this place was a delight for all my senses and a place I must go back too. A paradise I dint have the time to enjoy and feel what all I wanted too but as they say the place always calls out to you and am sure before I die I will visit you.

Snorkeling at the Phi Phi islands – My first every experience snorkeling and I could never forget how I felt when I immersed my head and realized that there is another world that I have not experienced for the last 30 years of my life
