Other options are also there to reach Kashmir by taking a train from Kolkata-Delhi-Srinagar. Based on my experience, the fastest and convenient way to reach Kolkata to Srinagar is the flight to Delhi Airport, then the flight to Srinagar International Airport. The most preferred way to travel to Kashmir by tourist is by flight.

Being on the Shikararide and spending time there or walking with your beloved ones in the apple orchards or floating away on a boat in the mesmerizing Dal Lake was everything extra-ordinary. Autumn is the best time to stay outdoors to watch the golden-brown rice fields, stream bringing down crystal-clear water from the mountain and the insects singing are the indicator of the breath-taking beauty of Kashmir valley.
In the fall, the houseboat experience will be perfect, and you spend a day enjoying the floating market on Dal Lake. Don’t miss to stroll through the magnificent Mughal gardens and shops for arts and handicrafts.
I liked the maple (Chinar) tree, which is the wonder and turns vividly in hues of muted yellows and reds. It looks like fire on these beautiful trees in the fall season. The falling leaf of the Chinars tree is a spectacular watch, and the walk on these fallen leaves was lovely. It is a mesmerizing spectacle that holds the viewer in surprise.You can have a walk of your life if you enjoy walking and it may be the best walk of your life if you walk with your companion. The fall is just perfect cooler temperatures rolling in welcoming air scented with falling leaves. This fall season is best for taking beautiful scenic photos, spending time outdoors, camping, hiking and going for a long drive. You plan a trip to experience fall in Kashmir to relax and rejuvenate with Mother Nature. The surrounding scenery will give birth to innumerable memories.
